So, one stunning adventure and quest to find Barbaros' treasure later,
what's next for Zack and Wiki? Sadly, it seems the answer to that question is early retirement. We've found
reports that say that a sequel to the game is looking rather unlikely
in the near future. |

At least, Capcom USA declined the localized release of the game not once, but twice. Read about it in the full article. |

Many are skeptic about Capcom's Okami moving to the Nintendo Wii after
Didier Malenfant from Ready at Dawn, the video game development company
in charge of the project, said it'll be an exact port. Some say it's
just an easy way to make quick money, but Senior Director of Strategic
Planning & Research Christian Svensson stressed out that the guys
behind Okami for the Nintendo Wii are highly skilled and aren't making
shovelware.Over at Capcom's official forums, Svensson addressed naysayers who believe Okami appearing on the Nintendo platform is a mere move for extra cash. His post read: Given that the only port we've done to date was RE4,
which has a 90+ gamerankings score and provided AMAZING value for the
platform, has this really been Capcom's modus operendi such that this
allegation should be leveled at us? Zack & Wiki is getting better
reviews than just about anything you'll see this year on Wii, except
possibly [Super Mario Galaxy]. Shovelware is not what we do. Before that, he placed trust in Ready at
Dawn as an experienced group of former Naughty Dog and Blizzard
employees who "shipped their own titles that have rediculously high
review scores." Svensson continued, "if we wanted a cheap and dirty
port, I could have turned around and picked any one of 50 houses and
gotten it done for less and perhaps more quickly." ...if you MUST assume the worst, assume
that you will have an amazing 40-60 hour adventure that is one of
gaming's most impressive pieces of art to play in fantastic new ways.
If you want to hope for the best, well, perhaps we'll have more to say
in a few months, but for now we're going to have to ask for your
patience. |

A couple of days back, we reported on a rumor that Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law's release has been moved to January. Sorry to tell you guys, but we just found confirmation that the upcoming Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation Portable video game from Capcom is indeed going to be late. We found said confirmation on the Capcom Forums. Christian Svensson, Senior Director of Strategic Planning & Research answered the inquiry about Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law's release date: The game is and has been finished, submitted and approved, however we felt releasing the game on the same day 112 other SKUs released was not ideal for its chances. Retail buyers agreed. As such, we've opted to move the title out into a slightly cleaner release window. This will allow us to get on more shelves, do a bit more outreach to the media and hopefully get the fans in on the action a bit more. It looks to be a smart move for Capcom for not wanting their game to get lost on the holidays' shelves. We'll have to wait some more as January is still a long way off. We'll be keeping an eye out for the new release date for Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, and more info so stay tuned. It was revealed a couple of days ago that one of Capcom's bombshells is actually the return of Bionic Commando on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. We say "one" because it was announced today by the legendary video game development studio that more are dropping in this week."You saw one announcement today... You will see another announcement at the countdown timer on Wednesday. You'll see a slew of other announcements/updates after the media embargo lifts on Thursday, Friday or so", promised Capcom's Director of Strategic Planning and Research Christian Svensson. Aside from major graphical overhaul, the next-gen Bionic Commando will also feature a lot of gameplay mechanic revamps and a new storyline. If that announcement made your day, we suggest checking back here at QJ.NET to hear about the other announcements in the coming days. Fans are speculating that due to the recent success of Resident Evil, Capcom may be on its way to developing a Resident Evil title for the PlayStation Portable. Given the return of Bionic Commando, however, you can never really be sure what exciting things are up Capcom's sleeves. |
