Midway, SCi/Eidos: big game industry merger part two? - Image 1Here's one for the books: word got out from an inside source that the SCi, together with underling Eidos Interactive, may be seeing a merger with another well-known game company soon, if the alleged talks turn out to be true and actually pull through. The company in question is none other than Midway Games, who's just recently changed chairmans to Viacom's Shari E. Redstone. Mere coincidence? More at the full story.

Showtime Boxing on the Wii...Adrian! - Image 1For those who have been looking for more boxing games on the Wii, look no further. Zoo Digital Publishing's Showtime Boxing will be coming to the Wii this December 7 with a plethora of features that should keep boxing fans happy.

The game obviously takes advantage of the unique control scheme of the Wii, so blocking, punching, dodging and other actions are handled by the Wiimote. In a nod to today's "customize everything" trend, the game also offers customizable hair, shorts, gloves and boots. You can unlock additional gear to slap on your fighters as you play through the game and win matches.

For those who are wondering on where your pugilists will be duking it out, the game offers four arenas for you to fight in: New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Be sure to check out the full list of features below to see what else the game has to offer:

Features:
  • Choice of 14 boxers – seven heavyweights and seven lightweights – and six title series.
  • Customise your character by changing their hair, shorts, gloves and boots.
  • Unlock more boxers, arenas, clothing and gloves by winning matches and claiming titles.
  • Each fighter has a special three punch combo which you can utilise to take control of the fight.
  • Multiplayer through Wii Hotseat allows you to enjoy the boxing action with your friends.
  • Compete in either one off bouts or take on a series in order to win those all important title belts.
  • Features four different stadiums, each with their own characteristics – New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
The game looks to be a contender, so better start practicing on Wii Boxing fight fans lest you get owned by your little brother when this comes out. Be sure to keep checking back here for more updates on Showtime Boxing for the Wii.

Re4 Wii - Image 1

Just how good was Resident Evil 4? So good that just about every credible review site and magazine gave it a perfect score or something pretty close. So good that it made drastic deviations from how its classic predecessors played and still commanded the same reverence from new and old fans. In fact, it was so good that it debuted on the GameCube, went to the PlayStation 2 then came back full circle aboard the Nintendo Wii.

But we're not here to talk about that. What we have here are some sweet screens of that phenomenal survival horror that chilled you yet again. We must admit that the visuals aren't that far off from its GC and PS2 versions, but they're good enough on the Wii version considering its hardware capabilities.

We're familiar with the locales depicted here. The village looks as eerie as ever and we won't have it any other way. Too bad these shots can't give us a preview of how the controls will be, because quite frankly that's what everyone is looking forward to at this point. Just the thought of a Wiimote-driven Chicago Typewriter makes us involuntarily generate bad intentions for the Las Plagas-stricken peasants....

That's just one of the many screens waiting. Click the Full Article link and see them all!
