We Love Golf! - Image 1In its latest press release, giant publisher Capcom has announced that it is currently developing a game called We Love Golf! (formerly Wii Love Golf) for the Nintendo Wii in cooperation with Camelot.

Camelot Software Planning is credited for developing hits from the Hot Shots Golf series as well as the fun Mario Golf under the Nintendo publishing umbrella.

We Love Golf! heralds the entry of Capcom in the sports development arena, marking the first time that the company has ventured into the genre. Ready your golf clubs, We Love Golf! will be coming to the shelves this winter.

Also announced were solid shipping figures for Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition worldwide with 750,000 units shipped at the end of August. Resident Evil 4 is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, gathering praise on every platform it has been ported to through rave reviews of trusted sites.

The Nintendo Wii has the largest owner base among the three next-generation consoles, surpassing its rivals with more than 10 million units sold in less than a year.

Wii Love Golf - Image 1

Camelot, makers of classic, timeless titles such as Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, and the beloved RPG experience on the Gameboy Advance, Golden Sun, has made its comeback on Nintendo's motion-tracking console of gaming heaven with their latest golf title Wii Love Golf. It's a golden homecoming for the company that not only has a lot of quirky sports titles underneath its belt, but also the mind behind some of the most endearing games to date.

In this scan update (courtesy of the good folks over at Famitsu, of course) we see that Wii Love Golf is definitely shaping up nicely, with Camelot's trademark cutesy and superdeformed take on the hole-sinking sport intact and in action. Like many of the other golf titles out there, the player uses the Wiimote to aim, swing, and achieve ultimate course dominance. The graphics are cute, the colors are vibrant - Camelot's certainly sticking to what it knows and does best with this title, and that's not a bad thing at all.

Of course, while we appreciate another golf game for the Wii, here's also hoping that Camelot sees the opportunity to cater to a new breed of fans - maybe a Mario Tennis or Golden Sun sequel? Surely that's not too much to ask, is it? Fingers crossed!

Updates as we get them, so enjoy the scan!

camelotEarlier today, we reported that the Japanese videogame developer Camelot Software Planning is parting ways with Nintendo to concentrate on its new online golf game called I Love Golf. The news broke the hearts of fans who were clamoring for another Golden Sun game on Wii or DS.

Well, fans of the RPG can heave a collective sigh of relief as according to some sources, Camelot Software isn't leaving Nintendo. They are simply expanding onto the PC platform. And to 'unbreak' your aching hearts, a Wii RPG is said to be in the works. Surely, Camelot just can't leave Nintendo - not without giving us a next-gen incarnation of the Golden Sun...well, at least that's what we hope will happen. The game's much too good to be left dusting in the same corner where your GameBoy Advance is.

Camelot is also the company behind Mario Tennis: Power Tour (GBA), Mario Power Tennis and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour on GameCube.
