It's that time of the week again. Media Create has released the software sales results in Japan for the week of October 5th through October 11th. Keeping the top spot is still Pokemon HeartGold/ SoulSilver for the DS.

Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith has revealed that they have now set their sights on breaking into the action genre with a brand new IP. Details about the IP are still scarce, but Griffith did share with Develop why Activision, which has become decidedly restrictive when it comes to new IP, made the decision. I bet you guys can guess why.

We have some good news this time for Metallica fans in Europe. Activision Blizzard has announced a new bundle for Guitar Hero: Metallica (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) that's exclusive to the territory.

Activision has revealed that a new entry in its James Bond game franchise has been delayed to 2010. This announcement was made by Activision CFO Thomas Tipple in a conference call with investors today.

Atari President Phil Harrison wants to prove Activision wrong for dropping Ghostbusters like a hot potato when it merged with Blizzard, saying he wants to turn the video game into a US$ 100 million franchise. So much for Atari's goal to be "just an online company," and I couldn't be happier for them. Go Harrison!
