Bizarre Creations - Image 1Bizarre Creations, the development team responsible for the racing classic Project Gotham Racing 4, has expressed its desire (and interest) on making a racing game of similar ilk on the Nintendo Wii.

It seems that Reggie Fils-Aime's display of the Wii Steering Wheel back in Nintendo's E3 Press Conference has captured the imagination of more than just fans, as Commercial Director Sarah Chudley thinks it's cool. Her exact statement, presented as is:

We enjoy working on any technology, whatever the capabilities - as they're all a challenge. A Wii racer sounds interesting, especially with the cool racing wheel, but of course we can't discuss any plans for the future as yet, sorry!

While it's no guarantee that we'll be getting something along the lines of Project Gotham Racing 4 on the Wii in the near future, it helps that Mario Kart Wii isn't the only racing game we'll be looking forward to. Here's hoping it gets realized - after all, the Wii Racing Wheel just bleeds a lot of potential. In the meantime though, you can check out the full interview from where this statement was gleaned via the read link below.

Robin Kaminsky - Image 1Now that Activision has acquired Bizarre Creations, and are creating two games under their newfound partnership, what's the long-term benefit that can be gained from their merging? Activision executive vice president Robin Kaminsky tells more about their future plans with Bizarre Creations.

Acquiring the developers of popular racing game franchise Project Gotham let Activision gain an aptitude towards developing racing titles, and they are now considering creating a brand new racing franchise with Bizarre Creations.

Kaminsky also said that Bizarre Creations is also known for their XBLA titles, and they are also tapping their talent in creating Xbox Live content, but their main priority as of the moment are the large-scale titles. They are already working on several XBLA titles, all of which are slated to be released this holiday season.

Activision - Image 1

We recently reported that British game studio Bizarre Creations has inked an acquisition deal with giant publisher Activision. The deal places the former as an in-house development wing of the publisher, retaining its identity under a bigger corporate mantle.

Many were shocked as to why Bizarre Creations would sign such a pact with Activision, noting that the firm is doing very well on its own with various publishing partners handling its deals. Commercial Director Sarah Chudley explains the rationale in a report by GamesIndustry.

Chudley says that the successful run that both Bizarre Creations and Activision are having makes the partnership an ideal one. Activision is looking for good developers that will create new games for them while the developer wants to focus on creating quality content without the hassles of trying to strike deals before a project materializes.

"All we want to concentrate on is making great games, rather than the pressures of running a pretty large development studio, searching out deals," says Chudley as she expresses relief in not having to spend months on legal and business issues anymore.

"We want to be doing what we love, in the way that we enjoy, without having to think about being big business people," she adds. "It was a long and hard path coming to this decision, but we were driven by our desire to continue being able to deliver great games, and to enjoy doing it."

Chudley says that Bizarre Creations also chose Activision because of its "hands-off policy" on their developers. They don't tend to cramp up the creative styles of the teams working on games, preserving their individuality and freedom. She cites Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward and Tony Hawk creators Neversoft as prime examples.

"They are an extremely successful publisher who has a big passion for games, and who have great respect for all of our teams," Chudley concludes. New IPs under Activision are yet to be announced.

Seager from The Club - Image 1 Seager from The Club - Image 2

Bizarre Creations has recently posted an update on its site regarding the progress of video games set for release during this year's Holiday season. The development firm assures everyone that everything is going according to plan and all that's left is polishing.

"Everything is locked down and the last few bugs are being ironed out," says the statement posted in the site as the devs narrate how the game testers are all working their tails off looking for even the smallest of bugs in Project Gotham Racing 4, The Club, Boom Boom Rocket DLC, and Geometry Wars Wii.

Of the four titles, the juiciest detail came from The Club, an action game reminiscent of Devil May Cry. Sega has apparently given its consent to let some details loose on one of the game's characters: Seager. Seager is an extreme sports fanatic who joins a shadowy blood sport organization called The Club to test his limits and win it all. Bizarre Creations describes him as the kind of guy who'll do anything to win, so don't be surprised if he turns out to be dirtier than Ric Flair himself.

Feedback from the testers has revealed that the most popular level as of the moment is the Manor House. Details weren't given as to what exactly is in there but it's bound to be mayhem. The only clue given is that there's a variety of weapons throughout the game which are classified according to their strike ranges. Shotguns, rifles, rocket launchers, and more have their different uses and work with variable efficiency for each character. It's for you to figure out what weapons suit your style best.

Little else was said of PGR4, Boom Boom Rocket, and Geometry Wars Wii, but Bizarre devs did say that they'll definitely be right there come come launch time. We'll continue monitoring their page so we can alert you when new details are in. If you want more details on this topic, you can visit Bizarre Creations by following the Read link below.
