Remember all that hoopla last year about the sex scene in Mass Effect (Xbox 360, PC)? That's what happens when clueless critics weigh in on a subject they know less than nothing about. That episode also raised the question of whether or not scenes of a sexual nature have a place in videogames. Here's BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk's take on the matter.

Yes, it is possible that in the future, as gaming becomes more mainstream and its audience expands, the appeal of video games will shift from combat thrills to storytelling - a sign that the industry is maturing. Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves took top honors in the annual Best of E3 Game Critics Awards with the "Best of Show" prize tucked firmly in Nathan Drake's belt. Just yesterday, we reported on a supposed resume of a former BioWare employee indicating that they still have one more unannounced AAA title being kept tightly under wraps. Today, we have a statement from the company expressing their interest in the Nintendo Wii. There's no conclusive link bringing the two together, but that's surely some food for thought if they're bringing something "hardcore" to the Wii.

Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello dropped even more hints at Mass Effect 2's multiplatform future during recent EA's earnings call, saying that BioWare will indeed be releasing the game "on multiple platforms".

Last week's game releases introduced a lot of fun games, such as Dr. Mario DX and Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. This week, however, is the week for game ports, with Mac getting its own conversion of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), the Nintendo DS getting the arcade classic Super Dodgeball Brawlers, and many others.
