Welcome to our first ever edition of the Wii Weekend Warrior, where we talk about the latest news and updates for Nintendo's motion-sensing brainchild. The Wii scene's rumbling as E3 nears, and it looks like Wii gamers will have their hands full for the rest of the year! Quite a good time to start off this blog's Weekend Warrior, if I do say so myself.

It seems like Nintendo is still enjoying its lead for this week's software sales list in Japan as the numbers from Media Create showed Mario Kart Wii topping the charts once again. Capcom's own Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G maintained its place in the second slot. The other contenders are trying to catch up to these two, while some have dropped straight off the list. Nintendo threw us a curve ball when it announced Super Mario Sluggers for the Nintendo Wii at the San Francisco media summit a few days back. It's been confirmed that the U.S. will be getting the game, prompted perhaps by the blockbuster success of Super Smash Bros. Brawl there.
