One Piece: Unlimited Cruise 2 - Image 1We've got new assets for the second episode of Atari's One Piece: Unlimited Cruise based on the popular manga and anime, One Piece. Japan and Australia has already welcomed Luffy and the gang to their shores, while Europe will only get its chance on October 2nd of 2009. As for North America, there's still no date for a launch. Don't feel too bad, though. We've got screenshots and a Japanese trailer for you here to tide the wait over.

The second game to be refused qualification in the region this year, however (Necrovision was the first), wasn't banned because of blood and guts but because of some good old-fashioned nudity.

Namco Bandai - Image 1Two years ago, Atari Europe was fortunately in the safe zone, despite the mother company's grim and disheartening financial report of Q2 2007. Back then, the problem was isolated only to the US offices, and the Atari branch was said to be unharmed by the restructuring overseas. Today, however, Atari Europe is no more, now having been officially acquired by Namco Bandai.

Electronic Arts - Image 1Electronic Arts has now released an official statement in response to the circulating rumors that  they have let go Pandemic Studios in Brisbane, Australia. While they did admit that their upcoming job cuts will affect studios, they did not divulge any more specific details about it.

Pandemic Studios, Brisbane - Image 1As rumors would have it, Electronic Arts has shut down the Brisbane, Australia office of Pandemic Studios. Says a "reliable source", the shut down was more of a "find a new publisher" thing, rather than a "sorry, we'll have to kill you off" scenario.

Australia R18 - Image 1The Attorney Generals of Australia finally agreed to release a discussion paper on whether or not an R18+ rating will be added to the currently existing ratings board. The paper will be made available over the Internet and will ask opinions on a number of issues relating to the introduction of the R18+ classification for video games. Hope it works.
