Guilty Gear XX Accent Core launches February 2008 - Image 1Publisher 505 Games sent out word that Nintendo Wii owners can finally get their hands on Guilty Gear XX Accent Core as the title launches in North America this coming February 2008. It is being developed by Arc System Works and is actually the third installment of the successful franchise.

Accent Core features a major graphical overhaul to make it more enticing to video gamers. Aside from that, the title also sports gameplay changes with the inclusion of never-before-seen moves such as Force Break, Slashback, and Slip Throws.

The number of characters has been upped to 20 not to mention the alternate EX version for each. Of course, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core has also been made compatible with the Wii's motion-sensing controllers.

Arc System Works mentioned that the normal and rather weak character moves are mapped in the Wiimote button while the stronger ones can be pulled off using the combination of the two. While waiting for the actual launch and other updates, just enjoy the screenshots below!

Crazy anime-styled brawling action with just a hint of cross-gender weirdness in this Guilty Gear XX Accent Core for the Nintendo Wii gameplay update. Yes, the gang is back with their insane costumes and even more insane moves, and they're as off-beat and as quirky as ever. And Bridget is still a guy cross-dressing as a girl.

In this video, we see quite the one-sided match-ups playing out - the frail-looking Bridget, the sickly-looking A.B.A and the precocious May facing off against the game's tougher, more battle-hardened combatants. Unfortunately, things in Arc System Works' Guilty Gear universe is never what they seem, and these girls (and boy) prove that they can take care of their own just fine.

Yo-yos, anchors and big giant demonic keys, oh my. Enjoy the videos!

Wii Console - Image 1Japan's weekly Famitsu magazine has just confirmed that a new game is currently under development for the Wii console, titled Adventure Flight (aka Puchi Copter Wii). In case you're wondering, yes, this appears to be a Wii-fied port of Taito's Puchi Copter 2 originally on the PlayStation 2.

The game's current publisher is Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, Hokuto No Ken arcade, Hooked! Real Motion Fishing), and is currently reported to be about 60% complete. As for the rest of the features Adventure Flight Wii is expected to carry:
  • Gameplay: Players will take control of a mini-helicopter they can fly through parks, houses and other buildings. In-game tasks include learning to take off, land, and shooting at assigned targets.
  • Controls: Tilting the Wiimote in certain direction causes game's mini-helicopter to move the same way. Pressing the "B" Button causes the helo to climb, while letting go causes it to descend.
  • Customizable Parts: The game enables players to swap out parts on their helo, which amounts to 54 different possible helicopter types.
  • Multiplayer capability
No confirmed date has been reported for Adventure Flight's release in Japan. Given that it appears to have a long way to go before completion, we'll get back to you when we pick up more info in the near future.

GG Accent Core - Image 1

Bridget cosplay and quite a healthy amount of gameplay coming for you in this Guilty Gear XX Accent Core video update for the Nintendo Wii. We get you a closer look at what's up with the fighting game that features hardcore anime influences and wicked-looking Instant Kill attacks.

In this video, we see Game-Watch paying a visit to the legendary Arc System Works studio to get a hands-on look at the game. The host, oddly enough, chose Bridget to cosplay as - and while we won't argue that it looks cute on her, someone probably forgot to tell her that Bridget's of the male gender.

Regardless, the brave interviewer charges on with the questions, and we see tantalizing bits of gameplay, as well as some of the menu screens we'll be navigating through. Unfortunately, the video's not embeddable, so you'll have to click on the Read link to actually view it. Enjoy!
