Namco Bandai snaps up Dragon Ball rights from Atari

There were already a few signs hinting that Atari was having some trouble holding on to the Dragon Ball franchise. A couple of years ago, the publisher clashed with FUNimation over the game license. Namco Bandai announced last month that it had secured publishing rights to three new entries in the franchise. Today, Namco Bandai has announced that it's finishing what it started.

24 million installed base for UK consoles recorded

This is intriguing math. Gfk-ChartTrack of UK has released the data for console sales in the region up to June 27, 2009 and it shows that there is a stellar 24 million installed base in the UK to date, with 8.4 million contributing to that number in the past 12 months.

Homebrew coder Brunette redhead has released a new update for Bugiin, a spinoff of Mario Paint's mini game Gnat Attack for the Nintendo Wii. The game features two main game modes, the classic mode, which is level based much like the original and a swarm mode which features endless enemies. The latest update now supports 2 players in the classic mode, new swatter graphics in swarm mode and more.

Now this is one Dragon Ball title you should definitely look into. Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo is a nice cartoony RPG based from the non-overpowered adventures of Goku as the little monkey boy. No Super Saiyans and take-forever-to-kill Freezas here, just the Red Ribbon Army, the wacky old characters from Dragon Ball, and the stretchy stick that Goku never needed as an adult. Check it out.
