Judging from the videos of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 that we found, it seems that Ubisoft really meant it when it said that it'll be sticking to the "rabbids" formula. If anything, the insanity in the videos below only hint that Ubisoft may have even successfully taken the "rabbid-ness" up a notch (and some though that more rabbid silliness wasn't possible).

The videos below show off the four-player versions of three new mini-games. Rabbid Baseball has you trying to home run cute rabbid ubibunnies off the field. Burger Balance has you desperately drying to feed a hungry bunny his tower of burgers. Finally, Carrot Spittoon challenges players to feed drunk bunnies some regurgitated carrot (it's really not as gross as it sounds).

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is exclusive to the Wii and the DS, and should be out by fall.

When we last heard about Spore, we learned that Electronic Arts was no longer counting on revenue from Spore for this current fiscal year. Based on that information, this means that the earliest we'd probably see Spore is at least until after March 2008 (the current fiscal year ends then). This delay though doesn't mean that EA has stopped marketing the anticipated game. In fact, EA has something for fans of the "god-game" genre.

Load up The Sims 2: Pets, and have your sim go use his PC. You'll find out that the pixel and polygon sims aren't bound by the constraints of real-world release date delays. Your sim can play Spore. You can't. Not yet at least.

Click play on the video below to get a better idea of what we're saying.

Manhunt 2 - Image 1

IGN has a report up on the many different environments you'll run around when playing Rockstar Toronto's anticipated Manhunt 2. The previewed stages include the Dixmore Asylum, the S&M Club, and The Honey Pot.

It was noted that the Dixmore Asylum serves as the tutorial/learning stage of the game. However, despite the stage's introductory nature, it was said that it is in no way a "trial run." You can still die in the worst of ways. As for the S&M club, it was said that in the later stages of designing the location, underground torture chambers were added to increase the sense of fear and mystery in the game. And as far as mystery goes, The Honey Pot location, although a red-light area at first glance is apparently a front for the sinister and elusive Pickman Project.

The screens of the stages are below. Click on each thumbnail to get a better look. A few in-game screens are also there, you may want to check them out. Manhunt 2 should be available on shelves and ready to dish out some insanity come the 10th of July 2007 in North America, and the 6th of July in the EU.

Wii Injury - Image 1Remember that old (by old we mean 1990) Nintendo related medical condition where people's thumbs got sore because they played on their NES way too much? "Nintendinitis" was the term for the condition, and it was first used by a Wisconsin doctor to describe the condition of a 35-year-old lady who played too much. Well, news is that Nintendo once again gets some marketing support from the medical folks. This time the condition is called "Wiiitis."

The Doctor responsible for the term is Dr. Julio Bonis, and apparently this doctor played a bit too much. The good doctor writes in the New England Journal of Medicine:

The variant in this patient can be labelled more specifically as "Wiiitis" ...The treatment consisted of ibuprofen for one week, as well as complete abstinence from playing Wii video games. The patient recovered fully.

Reuters reports that the good doctor was convinced to write a case report on "Wiiitis" because a friend of his suffered from a similar condition. Bonis supposedly found other cases similar to this and he feels that he should give a name for the undiagnosed condition.

Yes, it's not tennis elbow, it's Wiiitis. Having said that, we now wonder what they'll call that pain in the wrists that FPS experts get when they compete at a LAN party non-stop for 24 to 48 hours. Would Carpal Tunnel Syndrome still be an apt description? Or should they start calling it FPS-itis?

For those who really don't mind the Wii's power supply and want to take advantage of the little white console's size, than these two monitors might be for you. It seems that PEGA HK is the first third party manufacturer to release a portable monitor for Nintendo's Wii.

There's a 7-inch and an 8.5-inch monitor available and either has a black bar near the top of the screen. We point out that black bar because Wii, er, we hope that it's the sensor bar, because otherwise having a separate bar might be a bit awkward.

The product page for the item isn't clear about pricing or availability, but it does have a link for inquiries regarding the product. Images of both monitors are below, and the product page for the 7-inch screen can be accessed using our "read" link below.

Before we go, we do have to note that the page also has other interesting items like Wii boxing gloves and Wii silicon sleeves. If you're looking to "pimp" your Wii, the page may be helpful.

Who's this Mii? - Image 1For those of you who are still finding it difficult to get a Wii, here's something that might help a teeny tiny bit. It's a contest, and it does ask you to guess so many times, but at least the prize is a Nintendo Wii, so it may just be worth it. The contest is MiiPlaza.net's 10,000 Mii Contest.

The rules are simple. 100 Miis will be added to its database each Friday until the week of July 16, 2007. Participants will be awarded points (one point for nicknames, two for full names) for each Mii that they guess the identity of correctly. Only one guess per Mii, and you can't skip Miis. After guessing 10,000 Miis, the winner gets a Nintendo Wii.

Interesting, right? Even if you don't win the Wii, at least you'll have fun guessing. Anyhow, for more info on the official rules, and to join the contest feel free to head to its site using our "read" link below. Good luck and good guessing.

Koei has recently released 2 new gameplay videos for its Wii "lifestyle" RPG, Opoona. As cuddly as this game looks, the insane cuteness of this game does have some reason behind it. The game lets you play as Opoona, a descendant of the Cosmo Guard, and you're on a quest to discover what happened to your missing family.

Of course, combat, cuteness, and grand battles all happen as you try to solve the mystery of your missing siblings, and the videos below should give you a decent idea of what's in store for you as you embark on your adventure.

What's notable is the light hearted music, the smooth cel-shaded CG, and the creative special attacks in the game's Bon Bon Battle System. Click play on the videos below and see for yourself.

Toe Jam and Earl - Image 1This week, SEGA will be releasing several Virtual Console titles for European Wii owners. Included in that list of VC titles are: Streets of Rage 2, Toe Jam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron, Kid Chameleon, and World Sports Competition.

Streets of Rage 2 was released in 1993 and is a scrolling beat 'em up. Toe Jam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron is a side-scrolling platform adventure title featuring two aliens that have to rescue a planet from and Earthling invasion.

Kid Chameleon
, was originally an action platformer on the Mega Drive and asks players to help Kid (the main character) find 9 magical masks and fight the evil Heady Metal. World Sports Competition is like Wii sports only without the Wiimote, and with 1992 graphics.

Streets of Rage 2, Toe Jam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron, and Kid Chameleon each cost around 800 Wii points, while World Sports Competition should only damage wallets by 600 Wii points.

Prince of Persia - Image 1Latinoreview.com is a site known to videogame movie fans because around a year and a half ago, they managed to acquire an early draft of the Halo movie script and gave it a review. The site's latest victim, er, script review? Prince of Persia.

Last month, we reported that a movie version of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time managed to get a director despite it's being delayed 'til the Summer of 2009. However, you're all probably curious about how the movie will treat the beloved franchise of Jordan Mechner, right? Fortunately the scripts reviewer notes that it "reads and feels" like a 9th century Indiana Jones. That's a good thing, right?

What's revealed so far is that the concept of time manipulation, and the concept that a limited amount of sand consumed by a Dagger of Time, is included in the movie. The script review also gives out a few characters' names, but since we wouldn't want to spoil anything for you folks, we'll just hide all that behind our "read" link below.

Aside from odd names, the script for the movie seems like a step in the right direction. Unfortunately we'll have to wait a bit more to see if the movie will be worth our money.

The BIGS - Image 1If you're wondering just what exactly will be in The BIGS, 2k Sports' new baseball title for the Wii, worry not. Here's some Wii-centric game details on the Major League Baseball game, particularly, the control setup.

Using specific motions on the Wiimote, you'll be able to either bat, pitch, field or run the base. Batting is based on the swinging motion of both the Wiimote and the Nunchuck. Pitching is dependent on the arm speed, wrist movement, and the button that the player presses at the time of the pitch.

Fielding and throwing are controlled using "directional motions" with the Wiimote and the Nunchuck - wall climbs, double plays, and jumping catches are possible in the game. As for stealing bases, making a fast "drumming" motion lets you run, and then pointing the controls down will let you hit the dirt and slide.

Given that the soundtrack for The BIGS seems decent enough, combining the music with all the potential wild swinging (batting pitching, etc...) makes The BIGS seem like an apt title for any Wii weight-loss program.

The BIGS is set to be released on June 25.
