The publisher says it's in a good position to succeed and it's looking at companies like THQ to compete with. Square Enix logo - Image 1Square Enix has released its Q1 financial numbers and sales took a significant dip from last year. Sales in two out of three major markets dropped, while business in all of its portfolios also dipped. Strangely enough, the company showed an increase in profits compared to the same period last year. Details after the jump.

Ghostbusters logo - Image 1It was a bit of a letdown when Activision Blizzard didn't include Ghostbusters: the video game (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PC) in its list of releases for the remainder of 2008. Vivendi, however, indicated that all is not lost as they will be exploring other options on how to release it. The game will have to come in 2009, but someone has to pick up the publishing reins first.

EA logo - Image 1Electronic Arts, the biggest game publisher in North America, has released the numbers and highlights for fiscal 2008's opening quarter. Amazingly, the PlayStation 3 is leading the pack in EA's portfolios with a very sharp spike in sales from last year. More after the jump.
