dreamGEAR's GameBlaster - combines Wiimote, Nunchuk into one - Image 1

Third-party accessory maker dreamGEAR has a new product specifically designed for Nintendo Wii owners. It's called GameBlaster and aims to provide players with easier control schemes in shooting games and first-person shooters by combining the Wiimote and Nunchuk controllers into a single gun.

The company is known for a wide variety of products and one of its latest include the LavaGlow wireless controller for the PlayStation 3. Anyway, here's how dreamGEAR defines its GameBlaster:

The GameBlaster improves upon traditional gaming accessories with its distinctive break-away functionality for tricky in-game maneuvers, rotating barrel and unique design, crafted to be equally comfortable for both right- and left-handed players...

The GameBlaster pulls apart into two pieces at the touch of a button, giving gamers a competitive edge by allowing them to seamlessly shift from shooting to throwing.

"dreamGEAR is proud to once again bring a best-of-class product to market. GameBlaster makes game play more exciting than ever before, once again proving that our customers' gaming experience is always at the front of our minds," commented dreamGEAR co-founder Richard Wetson.

GameBlaster is currently priced for US$ 34.99. Interested parties may place an online order by clicking the source link below.

 » More interesting

This one has a far more esthetic and cool design than Nintendo´s Wii Zapper. Nice one.

I'm still for the Wii Zapper only I wish they integrated more rubber into the design.

$35 is pretty steep for this but if it truly is a solid design then I guess it's worth it.

My only concern is whether the unit will start to "jiggle", where is comes apart, over time.

I would rather spend more money and just have an actual gun made. Like GunCon. Call it WiiCon :) A complete one piece solution that contains the guts of both remotes. As it stands, no mater what design you come up with, you will always have buttons on the top/front of your barrel and that's just plain awkward.

 » Wow!

I will buy it if it is licensed and approved by Nintendo and without it I wont.

Of course it won't be. Perhaps you should go and look at the term "third party periperhal".

 » LOL $30+ ...

I got mine in HK for < $8 US... btw, not that useful for current games since they use the Wiimote for firing so you'll end up using your left hand for firing still...

@KirbySS,
Third party products CAN BE licensed by Nintendo. Perhaps you need to learn a thing or two yourself!
