E3 Nintendo Press Conference - Image 1Aside from Animal Crossing: City Folk, Nintendo also unveiled new details on Wii Music at their E3 press conference. Yes, folks, the game was in development all this time, Ninty was just quiet on it. So what's it like? Imagine Guitar Hero III or Rock Band, only with 60 instruments. The catch? All you have is your Wiimote. More details, and screenshots in the full article.

We're clueless why the last time we've heard of Nintendo's Wii Music was quite a long time ago, but we do know that this new video holds much promise. Shigeru Miyamoto demonstrated the game back in 2006 using the Wiimote to make music either as an orchestra conductor or drummer, but it never surfaced again up until now.

Wii Music is back, and this time in 4-player goodness. In the video below, you'll find Miis in black suits playing Mario's theme with guitars, shakers, and other instruments. The beats are displayed on top, and they look fairly easy to follow. Unfortunately, there are no details yet pertaining to how the game will play. Seven Miis are on screen, making it seem like players will have to control more than one.

The game is still under tight wraps, but we'll keep you posted on any updates.

For those of you who's searched the deep sea and the high heavens for the Wii Sports Theme Song or any Wii Music anywhere, here's some good news for you. Over at imasuper.com, some good Samaritan has posted that he has, lo and behold, finally found them.

The best part about his find is that he's made them accessible for all those "Wii lovers who want the music, or even better, ringtones!" A warning, though, if you ain't a Wii owner, then you most probably don't have the legal rights to the Wii music. That being the case, do not download 'cuz doing so will er...make you a pirate, we guess. Anyhow, for those who are vested with the legal right, you can head over to the "Read" link below and see what else is there for you.

According to TechDigest (where we found this Top 10), these videos will have you convinced that you want a Wii. So we watched them again ("again" because these are old). Some of them were cool. And some are scary and sure to drive die-hard Nintendo fans nuts. You've already seen most of these or maybe even all of these. But here, together in one QJ post for the first time, are...

The official trailer. Charming. Cute. Fun. The perfect introduction to newbies about what the Wii is all about, and a nice video for the rest of us who just can't wait to get our hands on the real thing.

If I was making this Top 10 list, I'd have put in the video of Matt Casamassina showing off the Wii features (you know, the zany Hallelujah Video).

Too bad comments here can't support YouTube or other video embeds, but maybe you can head on over to our forum and debate the list there. What's your Top 10?

Wii Music Orchestra

For some of you who haven't heard of Wii Music Orchestra yet (and yes, it's been announced months ago), we don't blame you because it's one of the lesser known titles coming out for the Wii. And, so, maybe it's about time we featured it. Besides, even though you might not know anything about the game, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what this is going to be like.

Put the Wiimote up together with a game called Wii Music Orchestra, and the concept behind the gameplay simply reveals itself: Wiimote becomes a conductor's baton! The idea seems a bit dinky at first. But it might actually be fun. I mean, isn't there anyone out there who has imagined themselves to be a maestro at an orchestra? Anyone who ever wanted to conduct some classical music?

Well, it might look like a pretty tame game, but then, you might be surprised at how tiring it could actually be. Because you'd be required to keep the pace with the orchestra by moving the Wiimote up and down, as you watch the baton signals on the screen. Of course, there'll be room for some stylized movements also...

If you're not into the whole "classical music" gig, then there's still one more thing you might want to consider. Song selections of Wii Music Orchestra will also feature songs from the Nintendo franchise (e.g. The Legend of Zelda). Yeah. 'Nuff said. Look at her demo; she looks so happy:

I am the maestro! Bow before my baton of power!
