Leave it to Electronic Arts and Nintendo to bring along the funny. After getting Tiger Woods to do a funny "in-house" ad for Tiger Woods PGA Tour '07, they got him to do another quickie advertisement, featuring a parody of one of the trademark skills in golf: ball handling.
Ball handling occurs when you use the end of your club to keep the ball in the air, usually ending in a long drive. For reference, we're also going to add one of the original Tiger Woods ads, just so you know what we're talking about. In any case, perhaps that's one big difference between the real game and the video game: a distinct lack of golf clubs. |

Now we're not entirely sure why Tiger Woods would choose "The Round Mound of Rebound" Barkley to pick on, but he did. While Barkley hasn't followed "His Royal Airness" down over to the green, the former dominant rebounder did retire from hogging basketballs and moved to a new position of talking about other men dribbling their balls.
But since handling the Nintendo Wii's wireless remote is all about the way you slice or hook your way to stay in the green, we guess every person has his own version of the perfect swing. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is already available at your nearest game retail store. Adding to the really popular set of Wii sports titles, PGA Tour 07 should be making a blast at your home, the office, or even your granny's retirement community center. But if you don't have the greenback yet to grab a copy right now, you could always opt for Electronic Arts and Nintendo's more charitable options. |

Nintendo Australia together with microtransaction king Electronic Arts will be giving away three game titles under EA's line up of Nintendo Wii games. All you need to do to enter this contest is to register as a bonafide Nintendo Members Club...well, member ....and answer the following question: "Which of these games do you want to win and why?"Off to the games! Up for grabs is a copy of Medal of Honor: Vanguard, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 and SSX Blur, three fantastic titles from Electronic Arts that should be available for the Wii now. Got that? Good. All you have to do now is select one game, write up a sad, sobbing story about how much you can't afford it (or something) and make sure your address is properly noted on your member's profile. And then submit your entry, hoping you've just written the saddest short story in world history - compared to a million other sad, sobbing stories also submitted. Or you can just opt to answer the easy way: "Medal of Honor: Vanguard. Because." |

The game Tiger Woods
PGA TOUR 07 by Electronic Arts (EA) for the Wii has already shipped to North America. This is one of the most highly anticipated games by golf fanatics and casual gamers alike. The innovative control system of the Wii allows you to tilt the Wiimote to hit a hook and
slice the ball or to simply swing away for a long straight drive. The
Nunchuk can also be attached for a more traditional analog swing. The game brings 18 championship courses and 35 pro and fantasy golfers to your Wii. The entire package is included with golf commentators David Feherty and Gary McCord adding spice to the plays and the crowds cheering or booing based on the situation. In addition to this, six new additional game modes and a slew of options make this game a contender for the top golf game on the Wii today. If the cartoony graphics of Super Swing Golf Pangya didn't appeal to you, then perhaps this game will. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07 has an MSRP at US$ 49.99 and is rated an "E" for "Everybody" by the ESRB. The international release of the game is slated for March 16, 2007. |

Whoever said that golf is for old (errr...mature?) men obviously haven't heard of EA's upcoming sports title, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07. Well sure, it's not like your ordinary gamer would really go out and play non-virtual golf after getting a glimpse at the game. But it could very well help you understand what the fuss over "lush greens and a ball" is all about and why your dad/grandpa/husband claims to have that swinging sensation (say whaaat?) when playing golf. Anyway, vague intro aside, we're here to share with you yet another trailer for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 which shows you how to work the Wiimote in swinging those strokes. It might come in handy fellas, as the game is set to hit the shelves real soon (March 15th, to be exact). So while we wait for those three long days to pass, check out this trailer and tell us what you think. Enjoy! |

IGN got the chance to talk with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 producer, Rich Rogers, and there certainly are a lot of interesting stuff on the Wii version of EA's serving for the Wii. Of primary concern to the developing team was, of course, the motion control. Says Rogers, "The biggest challenge we faced in getting the motion control just right was establishing a sense of connection between the user's motion when compared to their own screen golfer." Of course, it's not hard to imagine why that would be such a challenge. After all, they had to make sure that the on screen golder would be in sync with the player's own motion. Apart from this, they also tackled the other modes that gamers can look forward to in the game. So, you may very well expect a total of eight arcade game modes along 12 different multiplayer game modes, not to mention the Stroke Play, Match Play, Skins, and more. There will also be the Tiger Challenge and PGA Tour Season modes to add spice to your single-player game experience. So most definitely, there'll be a lot to keep you putting on that green. And what of the online functionality? Unfortunately, the Wii's online component didn't make it on time for them to integrate this function into Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07. However, all the other game's features and modes will surely be able to make up for that loss. More on the interview and some more screenshots after the jump! |

"I am Tiger Woods," that catch phrase has inspired countless parodies and jokes on the Internet. Lots of game modes have been included in Tiger Woods PGA Tour series: One-Ball, Team One-Ball, Bloodsome, Greensome, Elimination, and Team Tour. In addition, the game offers a star-studded cast of golfers which include Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and even Natalie Gulbis. A whole new batch of videos on Tiger Woods: PGA Tour 07 was just made available for your viewing pleasure. If the game can give you clear skies, great weather and beautiful sceneries, then it can also show you how it plays with cloudy weather. And judging by the video below, it looks just as great.
The game will also allow you to slice, hook or just plain swing a stroke just like you do in real-life. While the feature itself isn't that new, the fact that the Wiimote can help you twist your wrist the actual way is pretty wicked. Oh, and you can even control your ball's spin, too. Nice. Betcha can't do that on the green! No sirree! Click on Full Article to view the swing tutorial of this Electronic Arts game coming mid-2007. |

It's a good day for golfing, and you can experience the real thing right in your very own living room. Tiger Woods: PGA TOUR 07, one of Electronic Arts' lined up titles for the Nintendo Wii console, is a graphical marvel. Modelling straight from actual courses on the PGA Tour, even the newly licensed ones, it's like actually being there!
Now you'll be able to tee up without the wind messing up your hair or the sun beating down on you. After all, golfing is all about serenity and concentration. Okay, also the swing, but you need to concentrate in order to swing the right stroke. Plus, you don't have to haul that bag of golf clubs around. |

We've played tennis, bowling, baseball and golf with the Wii. Well, for the serious golf enthusiast, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 would be heaven. Wesley Culver is a producer at EA Sports for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07. He talks about the ins and outs of developing an integral part of the game - the Swing. Since the Wii's potential seems endless, the dev team began developing a specific version for the Wii. They started with putting down a basic swing. The next step came after putting into account the "shot shape", the draw and the fade. It's all about the flight of the ball, left to right is the fade while right to left is the draw. They incorporated this (rather than making it a preset option) by using tilt for the control scheme. If the player wants a draw, tilt the Wiimote clockwise and for a fade, counterclockwise. Natural tendencies would rule over advanced shot-shaping as it is intuitive. Culver admits that he has a tendency when playing real golf, in game it translates into a natural fade. The other gameplay mechanics are midair spin control, power, and aiming. Midair spin direction can be controlled via the directional pad and spin can be added by shaking the Wiimote. To get more power into swing, all one has to do is swing harder - extra juice can boost power to 110%. With aim, the directional pad can be used or the grab and drag function. Culver concludes that the swing was made to be "very accessible and intuitive to use" so that everyone can have a great time playing it. From casual to hardcore gamer and from golf novice to pro. |
