TMNT - Image 1

If any of you can remember the horror that was Ninja Rap, then this latest press release from Ubisoft should make you breathe easier. Ubisoft has just revealed that renowned video game composer duo Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan have created the original musical score for the upcoming TMNT videogame.

Drawing on their diverse musical references, Velasco and Dikiciyan have composed a "cinematic, action-driven score that encompasses orchestral, rock and break beats to match the acrobatic navigation, collaborative combat and powerful, fast fighting moves of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Sounds good. Better than anything from Robert van Winkle, anyway.

Velasco and Dikiciyan's other video game credits include the orchestral score for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and the main cinematic title for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

TMNT: The Video Game now available in retail stores! - Image 1Ubisoft announced that the latest installment to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, TMNT: The Video Game, is now available on your nearest game retail stores. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, probably the largest development studio in the world, the game will be arriving on the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 (PS2), PSP, Wii, DS, Game Boy Advance and GameCube.

TMNT: The Video Game will set the our heroes in a half-shell back in hometown Big Apple, where a sinister evil lurks around every corner. Taking off from the movie's story, the game will pit Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo in a struggle to uphold their brotherhood and keep focused on their ninja training.

It's up to team leader Leonardo and master Splinter to ensure the world's fiercest fighting team will be able to band together again to take out a certain evil plaguing the city of New York. But let's focus first on what TMNT: The Video Game has to offer for shell-shocked fans:
  • Intense Ninja Fighting: Harness the power of Ninjitsu and become a master of combat. Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are playable and each have unique acrobatic moves, weapons and combat skills, such as Michelangelo’s fast nunchuck face slap and Raphael’s powerful Sai throw.
  • Unique Acrobatic Navigation: The Turtles jump from rooftop to rooftop, scale tall buildings, dive into sewers and race through every corner of the city to confront their enemies.
  • Powerful Tag-Team Moves: Together the Turtles can team up to reach locations unattainable alone or defeat the enemy.
  • Diverse Enemies and Bosses: Features characters from the movie and the original comic book series – including the Purple Dragon Street Gang and the infamous Foot Clan – and a whole new group of enemies creep out of the shadows to face the Turtles.
  • Nine Wii Mini-Games: The Wii version features nine exclusive mini-games and each character has different movements and challenges. For example, Leonardo is forced to take action in a crime-ridden hotspot and in a game called “Shooting Alley” as he throws his Shuriken to keep enemies at bay.
The game heralds the arrival of the latest TMNT movie from Mirage Licensing and Imagi Animation Studios, which will also be coming to your favorite theater on March 23, 2007.

TMNT: Leonardo leads... - Image 1

They're the world's most fearsome fighting team; they're the heroes in a half-shell, and they're green. Yeah, you know the lyrics to the theme song from that 70s show 80s cartoon. And if you don't, worry not. Here are a couple of screenshots from Ubisoft's TMNT game (360, Wii, PS2, and PC) that give you the main gist: Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines...

Here we've got the fearsome greensome foursome in their own nature with their very own weapons. Notice how each of them can be used in the game, fighting styles, travelling acrobatics, and the proverbial hack-and-slash through hordes of the Foot Clan. The game (including its DS, GBA, GameCube, and PSP spin-offs) comes out on March 13 - just a few days before the movie on the 23rd.

Just yesterday, we brought you a teaser of the latest game installment to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Just dubbed TMNT: The Video Game, Ubisoft decided to give our shell-shocking pals a whole new ninja character. The game is slated to come out for the PS2, the Wii, the Xbox 360 and the PC.

Shimmying across ledges, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, and running up walls (Prince of Persia-style) are now added to the martial arts know-how of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Rafael, and Donatello. Where April O'Neil and Casey Jones are, we haven't got a clue.

With the movie from Warner Brothers Pictures and the Weinstein Company fast approaching (entitled "TMNT"), the game is also riding the waves of hype, oozing with just plain coolness. It's been a while since the last "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie and a short while since Konami's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Melee (a critical let-down).

Perhaps Ubisoft is going up the right road to revive the franchise and satisfy the dismayed fans, but it looks like perhaps they're adding a little bit too much of Prince of Persia into the mix? What say you?

This may sound a bit weird, but the thing I remember most about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the tandem of Bebop and Rocksteady. But that doesn't mean I did not enjoy it when Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello are kicking serious enemy butts. Anyhow, it's a good thing that the gang is coming to the Xbox 360, Wii, and PC because we're sure that a lot of gamers would have a kick in reminiscing their childhood just by playing the game.

Anyway, enough with the sentimental stuff. Going over GameTrailers, we found a gameplay video of TMNT dubbed as the Foot Stomping Gameplay. Looking at the video, I could only wish that the game would be blessed with a co-op feature. That would really be nice. With all that said, here's the vid for you guys. Just so you know, the game would have its U.S. release for the Xbox 360. Wii, and PC on March 13.

Green is "in" as the heroes in a half-shell let loose in their upcoming CGI movie and adventure game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, for the PC, X360, Wii, DS and PSP. Set in a New York City besieged by bizarre beasts and shadowy figures, the fearsome foursome embark on their toughest mission yet as they struggle to maintain the ties that bind them as a unit.

The movie delves into the subject of adolescent angst as Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael do everything to maintain their focus emotionally while trying to deal with all the ruckus in their hometown. Now, more than ever, Leonardo must step up on that leadership plate with the assistance of the fatherly Master Splinter to get things back in line again.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft promises a game that will appeal to everyone by delivering good graphics, explosive ninjitsu driven gameplay, tag-team moves and interesting enemies. The Montreal-based game maker draws the plot straight out of the movie with the addition of a few twists.

Meddling kids (oops, wrong cartoon) - Image 1

You may think they're cheesy now, but a lot of folks who were kids during the early '90s would agree that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was (forgive the lack of eloquence) the bomb during its time. This post is for all you who have heroes with half-shells in your heart.

A quick check at the EBGames listing of TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the Wii reveals that Ubisoft's real-ultimate-power  (a link to a previous report, and at the same time a reference to funny sites from the late 90s, sneaky ain't it?) fighting-action game comes with the TMNT Comic Book issue #1 for free. The promotional spiel says that the "Comic will ship with the game."

The game should ship by the 20th of March, 2007. Unfortunately, for those of you who are expecting to find an edgier and darker version of TMNT, the game is rated E for everyone, so no turtles getting stabbed in this one.

If you want to check the EBGames listing yourselves, feel free to click our read-link below, it should be really helpful.
