See how Tony shows the world that his core is the hardest of them all
as he fires off an unforgiving stream of insults and bullets in this
trunkload of Scarface: The World Is Yours
gameplay videos. And yes - the all-too-famous scene of Tony bidding his
opponents to greet his diminutive acquaintance is here, in all its
glory.
The graphics, while not having too much of a next-gen edge compared to other titles, does its job very well in replicating the movie's gritty, violent atmosphere. The ability to dismember enemies with a well-placed gunshot is ALWAYS nice, not to mention all the chainsaw-related hijinks you'll be able to pull off. Sound is not too bad either. You'll notice in the last video, Pick-Up Lines, that while Tony's voice actor sounds just a little bit too over the top with the swearing, he captures Tony's personality perfectly (watch for the particular bit when he tries to chat someone up off the street). Maximum balls (Yes, we giggled at that too)! While it has its rough edges, Vivendi's Scarface: The World Is Yours is shaping up to be a solid title for the Nintendo Wii. Enough talk from us, though - enjoy the videos! |

The video below is about Scarface: The World is Yours and Radical Entertainment's Ryan French. French, the game's associate producer, talks about how their development team was able to maintain the title's popular gameplay mechanics while at the same time making it compatible with the Wii's motion-sensitive controller.
French notes that new remote functionality has been added to the game as exemplified by Scarface's changing in-game cursor. The Wiimote and the Nunchuk can also be used to level up Tony Montana's "balls meter" through taunting. In shooting down enemies, players will always have the option for manual or auto aim. Lastly, and most interestingly, Ryan French explains how players will be able to perform "Blind Rage" using the controller combo. Scarface: The World is Yours will be released sometime this Summer in North America and before 2007 ends in Europe. |

Sierra Entertainment has announced that their game Scarface: The World is Yours has sold 2 Million copies worldwide. Pascal Brochier, president of global retail for Vivendi Games notes that this is a milestone for the company. He says: Selling 2 million units of Scarface: The World Is Yours worldwide is a great achievement and a direct reflection on the outstanding support received by the international retail and gaming community... This milestone is another strong example of Radical Entertainment's strong development talents and Sierra Entertainment's commitment to deliver a high quality, compelling gaming experience. The game is currently available for the PS2 and the Xbox, and should be available this summer for the Wii. As good as this sounds for the game, lets wait for summer to see if their adaptation of nunchuck and wiimote into the game is "proper" enough so that the Wii's user-base adds to that 2 million they've got so far. |

Perhaps the reason why Tony Montana is always angry is because nobody ever wanted to say "Hello" to his little friend. Apart from all the backstabbing and criminal activities and the various drug-related problems, that is. Whatever the reason, players will be able to harness the man's rage as they blow their way through the opposition in Scarface: The World Is Yours. Bloody, intense, and touting the badge of an M-Rated game, Scarface: The World is Yours for the Nintendo Wii video game console puts players in the role of Tony Montana as they try to conquer Miami's criminal underworld. Featuring a riveting, event-driven gameplay style, Scarface: The World is Yours also makes use of the Wii's innovative Wiimote and Nunchuck controller combo. Radical Entertainment's Scarface: The World is Yours is slated for a summer release. In the meantime, check out the new screenshots below. More screenshots after the jump! |

This time, it's producer Geoff Thomas spilling the beans of Vivendi Games' Scarface: The World is Yours. Without skipping a beat, Thomas relays to IGN how the adventure spanning the time just before frontman Tony Montana is gunned down is open-ended. If you've seen the movie, then you might be in for a surprise here.In the film, Tony Montana was killed by the army sent by the Bolivian drug lord, Sosa. But in the game, like a true hero, Tony Montana survives the ambush and manages to flee. Hence, the storyline of the game essentially revolves on the story of Tony's survival and his new thirst for vindication and revenge. Expect that the challenges won't be easy, as you'll have to rebuild your drug empire, reputation and influence. All these you have to undertake in order to be powerful enough to face up to Sosa once again. Sounds like a clone of GTA? Don't be too quick to judge. Thomas explains: Scarface is, first and foremost, about delivering the experience of being Tony Montana. It's about revenge, excess, indulgence, and having the balls to take what you want... all of these features come together as well as they do because they resonate with the core of Scarface: The World is Yours, namely.. . 'What Would Tony Montana Do?'. Now let's take a look at what he's got to say about the controls on the Wii. Basically, the IR plays an integral role in the aiming aspect of the game. As for the other motions such as camera control and shooting, that's taken cared of by the Wii Remote. The Nunchuk, meanwhile, is responsible for the character control. "Hell yes you can!" This is the ecstatic response of Thomas when IGN asked if the weapons differ at all in Wii use, specifically with the chainsaw's ability to cut people up. You can be sure to have your hands full with the truckload of weapons at your disposal in this game. You've got shotguns, machine guns, rocket launchers, pipes, machetes, chainsaws... the works. And although some from their own team are surprised that Scarface: The World is Yours was deemed acceptable by Nintendo for the Wii, it's certainly worth checking out how the Scarface experience will rack up the family-oriented console. "We haven't cut anything from the game. It's just bloody, intense, and M-Rated as other editions of the game. It just wouldn't be a Scarface game if we sanitized anything, and from what we've seen, Wii owners are clamoring for this kind of experience." So, with the game all set to come out this summer, might as well prepare your smooth moves so you can suavely yell, "Say hello to my little friend!" |

Seeing this video interview that IGN has for Scarface: The World is Yours kinda made me reminisce about the Brian De Palma movie that I have seen a bunch of times - specifically that song called the Yeyo song (well, see the movie and you'll know what I'm saying). Anyhow, Ryan French, the associate producer of the game clearly stated that this is not a "see the movie, play the movie" kind of game, so we'll stop the movie reference there.
Ryan French also said that the thing that is different in this game is of course, the Wiimote functionality. They aimed that gamers should feel like Tony Montana, but the Wiimote was able to take that a step further. This is so because now your gesturing your every move. Anyhow, click on the embedded video below to check out the entire video. The game would be coming out on Summer 2007 for the U.S. market, while Europe will get it on December 31. |

As we all know, Scarface: The World is Yours is way up there near the top of the violent video games list. We've got a trailer that's going to - well, show you guys just how much violence there is in the movie based game.
Tony Montana is certainly not somebody you mess with. And you certainly don't want to say 'Hello' to his little friend. The Scarface: The World is Yours Violence trailer starts at Tony's mansion where Sosa's men are attempting to kill Tony. In the movie, Tony dies in the hands of Sosa's assassins - though in the game, Tony survives and sets out for revenge. Scarface: The World is Yours from Radical Entertainment is certainly not kid friendly as Tony wields various weapons from a chainsaw and the rocket launcher, and he knows how to use them. (*insert flying dismembered body parts and swear words here*) The game's Wii version is set to hit the video games' shelves on summer of this year. For the meantime, check out the video. Remember kids, don't try this at home - or anywhere for that matter. |

Jason Bone, Lead Combat Designer for Scarface: The World is Yours coming to the Nintendo Wii, demoed the game to Games Radar and was quoted saying, "I am amazed we're allowed to make a game like this for Nintendo Wii."
Despite the many parental concerns regarding violence on the "family-friendly" console, it seems that Radical Games isn't planning on toning down the violence meter at all.Scarface, an adaptation of Brian De Palma's 1983 film of the same title, was revamped to deliver the full potential of the Wii. This allowed Radical Games to create a visual crispness unrivaled by the PS2 and the original Xbox. And because of the advanced detail to visuals, the violence incurred by the young Cuban Mafia-leader to be can be given much more focus. Games Radar confirmed that fear: the game took an even more terrifying stance in violence in the recent game demonstration. Bone defended their stance, saying, "Aiming a gun with the Wiimote is the closest you can get to killing a filthy cock-a-roach without getting of your couch." While it's an invitation for you-know-who to do you-know-what, the Wii does have a share of mature games coming for it, like decapitation-king Manhunt 2. Despite the questionable taste of Nintendo to allow such games on the Wii, it's all part of Nintendo's bid for third-party title encouragement. |

When we last reported on Radical Entertainment's Scarface: The World is Yours for the Nintendo Wii, we mentioned in passing that it would probably be months before the game was released. As an update to that remark, we're reporting that the Nintendo Europe site has just dated Scarface - expect Tony Montana to say hello to Europe's Wiis this July 6, 2007. Aside from hosting enhanced graphics as compared to its previous release on the PlayStation 2 (PS2) and PSP, Scarface for the Wii will host Wiimote control capability. Players can expect to enjoy emulating their favorite movie moments in game, whether it be waving a chain saw above their heads, or blasting rival gang leaders with a rocket launcher. For the moment, Scarface is listed as a summer 2007 release for North America. |

Scarface: The World is Yours is a video game based on one of the most vicious mobster-type characters ever to grace the silver screen. You play the Role of Tony Montana and your goal is to rule Miami's crime underworld and extend your grasp all the way to the Bahamas.
With original script from critically-acclaimed screenplay wizard David McKenna, the game will make its appearance on the Wii with a riveting, event-driven gameplay style, The game may still have a few months left before it hits the streets, but we've got some new screens you can drool over. The screens are looking gnarly and it looks like you'll be plowing through misty locales to strike every target that gets in your way. It doesn't matter what or who they are: Cops, rival mobs or politicians. With a Tommy gun in hand, every conversation should be an easy one. |
