Ubisoft has released a new trailer for their Wii exclusive, Red Steel 2. This is the one they came up with for this year's Tokyo Game Show and focuses on a character called Payne. It doesn't really tell us anything new about the game, other than that there's a bald, tattooed musclebound psycho in it. Check it out after the jump.

Put two more titles on your 2010 calendar. Ubisoft has confirmed that Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360, PC) and Red Steel 2 have both been delayed to the March 2010 quarter. Why? Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says it's to add further polish to both games.

Red Steel 2 looks good so far. Admittedly, that assessment's based only on the little bits of it we've seen, but on paper, the game definitely seems like a step up from the original. Despite the generally good hype surrounding it, though, the mandatory inclusion of MotionPlus is making the developers a bit nervous. Creative director Jason Vandenberghe even admits that it's a rather risky move.

Ubisoft has revealed their plans for the E3 Expo. Sure, they'll have their own booth on the show floor, but their press conference will be held on June 1 in an invitation-only set up at the Los Angeles Theater. They'll be bringing Assassin's Creed 2, Red Steel 2, Rabbids Go Home, a couple new games, and special guests during the event "to thrill attendees and web viewers."

Wow. I knew Ubisoft was pulling out all the stops for Red Steel 2 but I didn't think it would look this good. Never mind the vid's live action parts (guy looks like Jeremy Piven after he's been stretched on the rack). Just check out the short but sweet gameplay.

Ubisoft's Red Steel 2 apparently has a lot more going for it than just the addition of MotionPlus support. For starters, the game is more RPG-like than ever, complete with multiple paths, side quests, and some aspect of leveling your character up. More details are available after the jump.

A new entry in Ubisoft's Ghost Recon franchise was confirmed in the company's recently-released financial documents along with target release windows for two more Ubisoft games: Splinter Cell: Conviction and Red Steel 2.

Head's up. Ubisoft has officially announced Red Steel 2, Ubisoft's first crack at the Wii MotionPlus. When it comes out, you'll be able to enjoy the gun-trotting, katana-hacking action of the game using the shiny new peripheral.

Let the record show that Michael Pachter was right. Ubisoft has officially announced that they'll be releasing Assassin's Creed 2 during their next fiscal year (March 2009 to March 2010). A new Ghost Recon and Red Steel game are also coming. Details after the link.

Red Steel, which was largely criticized for its control system, is set to clear its name in Red Steel 2, which will utilize the new Wii MotionPlus accessory. Details in the full article.
