It's not everyday that we get fresh film footage for the up and coming film adaptation of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia
video game, that's why we're leaning more towards welcoming this video
interview with Jerry Bruckheimer, that also brings some sneak peek of
the movie in development. |

If you wanna have a look at the upcoming Prince of Persia movie poster,
you'll have to walk in a chick flick for that. In a shopaholic's world,
nonetheless. Mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has decided that he will
debut the Prince's movie poster in the most unlikely of his other
movies - the film adaptation of Legally Blonde-ish, Clueless-typish
Confessions of Shopaholic (starring Isla Fischer). |

Ubisoft's started cutting down on the prices for some of their earlier Wii titles. Going into specifics, this means that the Wii owners can now pick up a copy of Rayman Raving Rabbids for a US$ 29.99 over at the GameStop retailer. Or if you're after an even more tempting bargain, there's also Raving Rabbid's PC port, which is now a free (albeit ad-laden) downloadable. Also receiving a price cut are Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, Red Steel, and Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII. All three games will be selling for US$ 29.99. We imagine these deals will get the attention of the more recent Wii owners. In case you missed out on these games from before, now may be a good time to to add them to your shelf. The full purchase details are available in GameStop's site, via the read link. |

Latinoreview.com is a site known to videogame movie fans because around a year and a half ago, they managed to acquire an early draft of the Halo movie script and gave it a review. The site's latest victim, er, script review? Prince of Persia.Last month, we reported that a movie version of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time managed to get a director despite it's being delayed 'til the Summer of 2009. However, you're all probably curious about how the movie will treat the beloved franchise of Jordan Mechner, right? Fortunately the scripts reviewer notes that it "reads and feels" like a 9th century Indiana Jones. That's a good thing, right? What's revealed so far is that the concept of time manipulation, and the concept that a limited amount of sand consumed by a Dagger of Time, is included in the movie. The script review also gives out a few characters' names, but since we wouldn't want to spoil anything for you folks, we'll just hide all that behind our "read" link below. Aside from odd names, the script for the movie seems like a step in the right direction. Unfortunately we'll have to wait a bit more to see if the movie will be worth our money. |

Bruckheimer has teamed up with the director of Bad Boys I and II, The Rock, and Pearl Harbor - none other than Michael Bay. And if before, we mentioned that the movie based on the game would be out on 2008, well folks, you'd have to wait a little longer. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is slated for a Summer 2009 release. Movie site, IESB, mentioned that they have confirmed with Disney Studios that they are hoping that Bay will indeed take on the directorial chores for the movie when he is done working with another movie - Transformers. As for what Jordan Mechner has to say about the movie: Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as 'Pirates' [of the Caribbean] did with the theme park ride. We'll update you about the movie as more info comes our way. |

The game Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, developed by Ubisoft Montreal, has already been shipped for both the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation Portable. Rival Swords is essentially the sequel to Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within, and it features the same storyline and dark, gritty gameplay that Prince of Persia: Two Thrones possessed. The Wii version of Rival Swords uses the Wiimote and Nunchuk to perform various moves such as execute speed kills, and perform the Prince's acrobatics, while the PSP version of the game features bonus content like levels and, surprisingly, a multiplayer mode with chariot racing. If you want to pick up the game, it goes for about US$ 49.99 on the Wii and US$ 39.99 on the PSP. If you haven't had the chance to buy Prince of Persia: Two Thrones during its first release, or are simply a fan of the second game of the series, you should really check out this release and see if it appeals to you. |

After the Chariot Escape Gameplay from the recently-concluded GDC 07, QJ's Prince of Persia: Rival Swords blog now gets another addition to its video collection.
This time, it's Ubisoft's Prince doing the assaulting in the Chariot
gameplay. Yeah, he's done trying to run away from his foes. He's now
grown into a man and has learned to confront his issues.
And that's not all we have for you. We also have the Acrobatic Onslaught gameplay, which is actually very... er... acrobatic. But remember kids, just because he can fly from one ledge to another doesn't mean you could do the same at home, too. He can afford to do it because he can have his life rewound. You, on the other hand, just might end up cracking your bones and giving your parents a hefty hospital bill. Then they'd be sure to break your neck for it. Anyhow, enough chitchat. These vids are for your enjoyment, and that's exactly what we wish you'll have. Enjoy! The Chariot Assault can be seen at Full Article. |

Curious as to how the Wiimote will be used in the Wii version (doh) of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: Rival Swords? Well sure, we've brought you "Wiimote screens" before, and even shown you the vid of the Wiimote at work, so whaddya say we gear up for yet another batch of PoP-Wiimote 101 screens, eh? Given the heated action you'll be getting yourself into when the Persian prince comes to town, these screens are actually just quick teasers on how you'll be able to pull off high jumps and quick slashes to your enemies' bodies (see images below). It may have been rated T by the ESRB, but don't think that means that you'll be seeing a wimpy-assed Prince in the game. He'll still be as fierce as ever (d'you see that whip-chain right there?) when you get your grubby hands on PoP: Rival Swords next month. Enjoy the screens! |
