Koei's quirky RPG title Opoona didn't move a lot of units since it was launched in Japan earlier this month, but it seems gamers in the U.S. and other territories outside Japan will still get a chance to play it.More evidence of an English release of the game comes in the form of a semi-new trailer released yesterday. Check it out at the full article. |

It's no surprise that the Japanese-based video game company Koei has decided to feature some in-game previews of their upcoming "lifestyle" RPG, Opoona, for the Nintendo Wii during the recent Tokyo Game Show.
In a video taken during the event, the game still features the titular hero Opoona taking a small excursion around the one of the game's many worlds. Also, as featured during our past articles, was the inclusion of the Active Bon Bon Battle System which gave the game its uniquely cute charm for an RPG. This isn't so much of a surprise considering that the lead artist for the game is Shintaro Majima, the former Dragon Quest art designer, as well as Sachiko Yukimura who likewise worked on Dragon Quest. Coupled with the musical talents of Hitoshi Sakimoto of Final Fantasy XII, the game shows much promise when it finally makes its release in Japan this November. Gamers in the States will have to wait a bit longer since there's been no set date for its release here. No worries, though. Why not just sit back and take a look at some of the video footage for the game in the meantime. |

Space opera RPG Opoona just took a minor detour past some wormholes and is now floating off in its slightly delayed orbit. Originally, Koei's upcoming title was scheduled for its release on September 27 for the Nintendo Wii.Now, due to some polishing work, Koei's pushed back the Japanese release to November 1 instead. They're going to try to make up for the delay by taking advantage of the time they have. They say that the game needs a bit more improvement in quality, and for that reason, they're willing to sacrifice having to postpone its release. Well, any delayed game is better than a half-baked title that's premature. As for the release in North America and other regions, no dates have been mentioned as of yet. We'll be giving you updates as they surface. |

Today we have a few more magazine scans of Koei's upcoming Wii title Opoona taken from the pages of the Chinese version of popular Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. Check 'em out below.
Developed exclusively for Nintendo's next gen Wii console, Opoona is an RPG title that puts players in the shoes of the title character Opoona, who has to take on a variety of jobs in order to discover the truth behind his family's decidedly fatal interplanetary trip. Interestingly enough, controls are centered around the Wii's Nunchuk controller. Opoona is currently slated for a September 27 release in Japan. A U.S. release has yet to be announced. |
