One Piece: Unlimited Adventure has been sailing all over Japanese Wiis since May while North American fans of the anime are left wondering if the game will ever land in our shores. Well wonder no more Wii owners as Namco Bandai has just announced that Captain Monkey D. Luffy and his crew (the Straw Hat Pirates) are now on course to invade North America.According to Namco Bandai, One Piece: Unlimited Adventure should hit your local video games stores first quarter of 2008. Developed by Ganbarion, this Wii game follows the story of anime hit One Piece featuring the wacky characters Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Chopper. Aside from having a great storyline, one of the main reasons One Piece was widely popular is the weird powers each character possesses - main character Luffy for example, has a gooey-like body allowing him to have Reed Richards-like elasticity. Namco Bandai Games America executive VP and COO Makoto Iwai commenting on their decision to bring this Wii game outside Japan: We are thrilled to bring this one-of-a-kind television series into the hands of gamers on the Nintendo Wii. One Piece: Unlimited Adventure is the perfect blend of action and charm that will engage new gamers and series fans alike. As usual, Nintendo's motion-sensing wonder Wii will take full use of the said technology. Expect to have the opportunity to control your favorite characters either in brawl or adventure mode by wielding the Wiimote and Nunchuck. |

Well, the weekend is upon us, and you know what that means, right? That
means scouring the world wide web annals for new info and videos for
the latest games. You can thank us, of course, because we managed to
find some! BWA-HA-HA!
Like a pirate of the seven seas, we were able to plunder two new videos from the depths of YouTube, courtesy of mattyinkoriyama! These are from Namco Bandai and Ganbarion's One Piece: Unlimited Adventure title for the Wii, and they're two short gameplay and cutscene vids for fans of One Piece to enjoy. In the first video, you'll get to see Zoro and Sanji perform some of their specials: Zoro's Ashura and Sanji's El Diablo maneuvers. In the second video, you'll be able to observe a cutscene from the game, featuring the Dimension Zone. Have fun with them, alright? |

The happy Straw Hat crew is dropping in once again, and while the game just got released in Japan (with great sales to boot!), let's go back to the beginning. To be more accurate, let's take a look at the Intro sequence of One Piece: Unlimited Adventure. Here, we see cinematic cutscenes from the game, equally interjected here and there with gameplay footage of some of the characters you'd be able to control.
Namco Bandai and Ganbarion's One Piece title for the Wii is sure making its rounds in Japan. And the more footage we see of the game in action, the more hoping we become of its Western release. Checking various other sites online though, we've noticed that North America would be getting the game sometime in August, while the Europe release is still clouded in a TBA funk. Unfortunately, we have no official confirmation of this from neither publisher nor developer. Meanwhile, the Intro: |

Square Enix's Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, a spin-off of the popular PS2 title Final Fantasy XII, is off to a great start in Japan. According to the the latest first day sales data from Japan, Revenant Wings has already sold 180,000 units from its original shipment of 450,000. The game is expected to go beyond 500,000 copies despite some reported control issues. Over on the Wii side of things, Namco Bandai's One Piece: Unlimited Adventure is also off to a great start. While it hasn't gotten numbers such as the ones for Revenant Wings, One Piece: Unlimited Adventure did give a good first showing with 30,000 units sold. Surprisingly, though, Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree failed to duplicate the initial success of its DS version, with the Wii version of the game selling only 15,000 units. |
