The 2009 Today's Gamers International Survey reveals a fact that has been pretty obvious for quite a while now: more and more US citizens consider playing video games as their primary past time.

We've got a bunch of mystery games for you this Halloween week, as well as another one from the blood-curdling line of Ubisoft's Imagine titles, this time with Imagine Babyz Fashion. Headlining the line-up though would be Jak & Dexter for the PSP, the multi-platformer Lego Rock Band, and the new Need for Speed offering for handhelds, NFS: Nitro. Oh, and Band Hero featuring Taylor Swift is also here. Hopefully there'll be no Kanye to interrupt your game this time. Check out the full list in the full article.

We have a rather sizeable haul of new games this week. The cream of the crop includes such titles as Tekken 6, DJ Hero, Forza Motorsport 3, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, and that undying (not undead -- no, that would actually be cool) Petz series. Dig in and see which games fit your tastes and budget.

A lot of games are coming out this week. A veritable rainbow of releases, if you will. If we scale it, the red part (ROY G BIV, remember?) would include big titles like Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for PSP, Borderlands, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 and FIFA Soccer 10. On the violet side (more like bruise purple, really) we have the Charm Girls Club games and another Imagine [Insert Occupation Here] release. Hit the jump and let's get this ball rolling.

We've got an even spread of game releases for this week's batch of On Shelves games, including a couple of downloadable ones. Big for handhelds this week would be Capcom's and Namco Bandai's brawler offerings on the PSP, Fate/Unlimited Codes (available via PSN) and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, respectively. With summer about to end, it's nice to know that we're getting more company for the Fall as big game titles start to emerge. Topping the list this week are two big titles, each for consoles and for the PSP handheld. Batman: Arkham Asylum is set to grace North American PS3s and Xbox 360s, while Dissidia: Final Fantasy is weaving its magic on the PSP -- both on the same day, Tuesday. Amidst the usual barrage of less-than-note-worthy DS titles, this week's big release is the sequel to the 2001 FPS Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Hitler's got the usual evil army, and it's gonna be up to you to infiltrate and beat them from the inside. For the fifth consecutive month, the US gaming industry experiences a downward slip, this time with a 29% year-over-year decline to US$ 848.9 million. Details on July's NPD results are at the full article.

Finally, a game that everyone is definitely waiting for: Madden NFL 10. We' have some lackluster stand alone games the few weeks past, but not anymore. Starting this week, you're finally gonna get all the field action you've been longing for. Not only that, this whole week of August 9th to 15th seems to well-represented, with various games sprinkled all throughout the different days. Check out the list after the jump.

The games sure are kicking up. This week, we've got another video game adaptation of a popular action hero franchise that's launching along the movie.
