For those who have been waiting for the newest releases in Australia, wait no longer. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Wii is joined by DS titles Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Pet Alien as they all hit retail stores this week. So what do these games have to offer?

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon has been delayed before, and it's pretty cool that Australian gamers will finally get a chance to experience it. For the first time, players will actually be able to use real motions to control their characters and pull off some of the amazing moves (fatalities included).

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
on the DS is based on the upcoming movie of the same title. While most gamers have become wary of movies turned into video games and vice-versa, this game is said to offer a few new things such as a free-roaming mode that may change your minds.

Pet Alien is based on the cartoon series of the same name. Tommy and his pet alien Grumpers are abducted by the Robotix, a group of creatures who are trying to build the largest Zoo in the galaxy. Gumpers along with his four friends, now, must rescue Tommy and get back to Earth.

If you're residing in Australia, it might be worthwhile to drop by your local game shop to see if any of these games tickle your fancy. Be sure to keep checking back here for the latest gaming news.

Now that Mortal Kombat: Armageddon finally arrived in the US for the Wii, a lot of you guys are probably trying to figure out how to do fatalities. Wave that magic wand randomly no more, Midway Games released a full list of all fatalities and how to execute them.

This time around, no more complicated pressing of buttons required. There's still a huge variety of moves that you'll want to memorize, but the actions they require are pretty simple. Move your Wimotes up and down along with a bit of Nunchuck twisting and you've got yourself an enemy about to be turned into bloody pulp.

Imagine the shock of families who bought the Wii to get together and have fun, finding out that their harmless console can deliver mutilated bodies in pieces. Let's just hope people who don't know about Mortal Kombat games notice the M rating on the box to avoid mental scars for the kids.

As the Wii release for Midway Games' Mortal Kombat Armageddon looms ever so near, we've got another batch of videos for you MK fans. Today we see three gameplay videos featuring General Kombat, Motor Kombat, and switching fighting styles.

What else can we expect from the port? It features a minigame called Motor Kombat which is pretty much like a twisted version of Mario Kart. The characters are chibified and put on a race track with various death traps. The other two videos showcase general combat and switching fighting styles and weapons. We see Raiden fighting Kobra and Scorpion taking on Sub-Zero.

Anyway, we'll quit with the babble and let you watch the videos. Midway's Mortal Kombat Armageddon will be hitting the Wii in May 29 for North America and June 8 for Europe. We'll keep you posted on more news on Mortal Kombat Armageddon. In the meantime, enjoy!

Rest of the videos come after the jump!

There are only a couple of weeks left until Mortal Kombat: Armageddon hits Nintendo's next gen Wii video game console, and today we have a few new screenshots of the game. Check 'em out above and below. For a look at how the Wii handles the game, check out this vid.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is the seventh entry in Midway Games' Mortal Kombat franchise. All of the characters who appeared in previous Mortal Kombat games have been brought together in this title along with some new ones. Guess that's why they opted to call it "Armageddon".

Apart from the Wii's innovative control scheme, a brand-new Konquest mode also features prominently in the game as well as Kreate-a-Fighter and Kreate-a-Fatality features. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is slated for release later this month.

Featured in this week's IGN Fighter of the Wii-K video series is Khameleon, the shape-shifting femme fatale that rose from being a mere pallet swap of Princess Kitana's sprite and into something far more deadly and fleshed out. In other words, she's pretty, she's deadly, and she's hurts you good like an assassin should.

Sporting the most effective moves from the female roster of Midway Games' Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, it's no surprise she's being featured as Fighter of the Wiik - that nine-hit Savage Fatality of hers is beyond brutal (as all fatalities should be).

But don't let us spoil it all for you! Enjoy the video!

Here's the latest of IGN's series of Fighter of the Wii-k videos, featuring Blaze - a burning, smoldering juggernaut who's literally made out of molten lava - a playable character in the upcoming video game from Midway Games Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Nintendo Wii. Watch as the staff responsible for the gory beat-em-up we all know and love talk about Blaze's backstory, how he was first introduced, and how to execute some of his more powerful moves - as well as catch a glimpse of his prototypes. Great stuff.

On to the video!

We've met Daegon a couple of weeks back on Fighter of the Wiik. This week, it's the hero's turn. Meet Taven, the hero of Konquest Mode in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. The devs at Midway Games gave insight on the character and demonstrated the controls on the Wiimote.

Initially known as "Bob" and "Hero" during the earlier stages of development of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Taven is Daegon's older brother who woke up later. We also get introduced to his moves: Inner Fire, Ring of Hatred, Godly Charge, Speed of Light, Escape Move, and the Konquest mode exclusive Time Stop. The controls for the moves on the Wiimote look simple enough and we see each one demonstrated by the devs.

We'll quit the prattle now so you can meet Taven via the video. By the way, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Wii is just a few winks away (May 14). Might as well watch the video as you wait. Enjoy!

For the seventh entry in the Mortal Kombat series, Midway Games is bringing together every Mortal Kombat character along with a few new ones in a massive orgy of blood, guts, and motion-sensing mayhem. Yep, even Ermac.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Nintendo Wii videogame console has a roster of 63 characters. If the huge roster of playable characters isn't enough for you, there's always the Kreate-A-Fighter mode. Use your own creativity to come up with a unique fighter complete with his/her/its own fatality thanks to the game's Kreate-A-Fatality feature. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon also features a brand new Konquest mode that centers on the new characters Daegon and Taven.

Of course, since this is a Wii title, the Wiimote and Nunchuck figures prominently. Players will be able to use the Wii's motion-sensing controllers to perform special attacks and Fatalities. Check out the images below to get an idea of how that works.

It's time to get up close and personal with one of the more riveting characters of Midway Games' Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Daegon.

Daegon, technically, is Taven's younger brother. And like Taven, he was also put under a sleep spell and put in a hybernation cage. However, he was awaken way ahead of the supposed time accidentally, hence making him live longer than Taven. And because of this, he then essentially becomes "older" than Taven, since he's been living longer than his brother. Neat twist, eh?

Anyhow, the devs also appear in this vid, giving you some more insights into Daegon's character. Also in store for you here is a tutorial on how to get those super-Daegon moves working using the Wiimote. So, we won't be dallying any more now. Just press play and you're all set to go.
