Toys "R" Us has great news for all the Wiimote-whacking fellas out there, they're currently offering a '2+1 free' special promo wherein you'll get to snag a Ubisoft Wii game for free...if you buy two other titles, that is. This is great news especially for those who haven't gone out and grabbed their own copy of the games you see in the image above. (Although, why anyone would wait this long before grabbing Red Steel is just beyond me. Hehe.) Currently being sold for US$ 49.99 each, the Ubisoft titles included in the promo are GT Pro Series, Open Season, Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Monster 4x4. We dunno how long this promo will run, so if you don't have any of these games yet, we suggest you run out and grab your copies now. |

Isn't this a nice sight to behold? Yeah, right! We're sure that's what all you guys out there noticed first before the game trailer (lol)! Anyhow, for what it's worth, the game trailer sure does take you to where the World Circuit action is. It definitely looks exciting, and it definitely looks as if it ain't for sissies. It's gonna be one tough ride out there, and you best be prepared. Hey, you might even want to bring your girlfriend along to hold your hand...we ain't judging. Unless of course, she'll be the one kicking you from behind. Monster 4x4 World Circuit comes out along with the Wii on November 19th. |

With the Wii's launch date just around the corner, more details have been revealed regarding the gameplay of Ubisoft's launch title Monster 4x4: World Circuit. Monster 4x4: World Circuit (which will also see a Ps2 and Xbox release) for the Wii places a whole lot of emphasis on motion-sensing truck control, with Ubisoft even releasing a special Wiimote attachment called the Wiil which will come bundled with the game. Ubisoft will also be selling the Wiil separately, however, since it can also be used with other racing games for the Wii. Anyway, on to the details. Monster 4X4: World Circuit will have three types of controls and over 40 circuits all over the world including Moscow, Egypt, Barcelona, and San Francisco. Players can set traps for their opponents as well as take shortcuts and go through secret passages in order to cross the finish line first. Players will also have the chance to customize their rides - which they can choose from a large variety of vehicles like 4x4s and pick-ups - according to their tastes, whether their emphasis is on speed, jumping, capacity for destruction, or a healthy mix of the three. Monster 4X4: World Circuit also offers multiplayer support for up to four players in races or in mini-games like monster Soccer, Monster Battle, and Monster Ball. Monster 4X4: World Circuit will hit US shelves on November 19. Gamers over in Europe will get their hands on this game on December 8. |

Little things mean big things. Nintendo's Wii first came with a remote controller, the Wiimote, without which you won't be able to play any Wii-compatible game. 'Course, it would have to be a boring world if you play it without the nunchuck, so there goes another add-on. However, you won't be playing with your two hands all the time, as some shooter games require you to hold the remote and simultaneously control the nunchuck. That would be too inconvenient, wouldn't it? So you need a "zapper", which is a light gun-like holder for your Wiimote and nunchuck. Now, how do you make a quick louie when playing racing games such as GT Pro Series and Monster 4x4 World Circuit? Easy, add another attachment to the Wiimote, say, a steering wheel, and you're good to go! And you do that using Ubisoft's Wii add-on, the steering wheel. The wheel does look like any plastic contraption where you just stick the Wii controller in and twist it as you would a regular car steering wheel. For us, it does look a little ridiculous, but we're sure it's going to be really useful and a hell lot of fun when playing in fully simulated environments of these said racing games. We've reported before that the Ubisoft's wheel will be packaged with every Monster 4x4: World Circuit game. However, Ubisoft also intends to sell them separately as the Wiil is also compatible with non-Ubi games. Ubisoft will sell the steering wheel add-on at $ 19.99, while the Zapper's selling price remains unconfirmed. The GT Pro Series and Monster 4x4 World Circuit will sell for $ 49.99. |

So, you've read the preview, seen how the multiplayer works, watched the demo, and read all about the wheel. Now all that's missing is an announcement that Monster 4x4 World Circuit is out, right? Yeah, we feel the same way. And although the purpose of this article is not to announce that "yeah, the game is out, you can now snatch it off shelves", we have what could probably be considered as an effective reminder that even though it feels like we've been waiting for it for ages, centuries in fact, the game WILL come out soon and will come with a Wiil. How, you ask? Through the boxart.Hey, c'mon, before you knock the trusty ol' boxart down, you know it IS a confirmation that the game is coming along and will be released on the date previously announced. So bear with us if you think that this isn't even worthy to be written one whole article for, we still think a boxart counts to be written about. And besides, would you guys rather that you don't hear anything about your most anticipated games at all? Yeah, didn't think so. So here's the boxart for Monster 4x4, and we've thrown in the game's official logo as well. And in case you've forgotten, Monster 4x4 World Circuit is set to go vrooming and-a roarrring your way on November 17th. |

Time for some more king-sized vehicular mayhem with the Wii. This time, it's all about the two-or-more-player video previews of Monster 4x4: World Circuit. These two videos, courtesy of Gamespot and uploaded onto YouTube by aussienintendo.com, feature the game's multiplayer action, including the soccer minigame 1UP previewed.
These videos don't include any shots of the competitive players and the Wiil in action - in any case, check out this article if you want to see the "standard" Monster 4x4 accessory. Keep checking back here for more updates on the game as they come. Meanwhile, here are the videos we're talking about, rolling in with king-sized wheels. Two-player race |

"It's driven me before, It seems to have a vague Haunting mass appeal Lately I'm beginning to find that I should be the one behind the Wiil..." Puns aside, the song "Drive" from Incubus suddenly played in our heads when we saw this video with the Wiil (a Wii Wheel for the Wiimote; Wiil for short). Wasn't it just a few days ago that we showed you guys a video of this Wii add-on? Here's something new: it's a demo of the Wiil in action while playing Monster 4x4: World Circuit. Although it's just an add-on for the Wiimote, it seems like handling the controller would be much easier with the Wiil rather than trying to "steer" the Wiimote without it. The good thing is, the Wiil is to be packaged with every Monster 4x4: World Circuit. Nice marketing ploy, huh? For a game that requires you to not only race, but do stunts and tricks in the course as well, we're thinking that this would be a good game to put your Wiimote skills under a trial by fire. It's going to test your skills, and how efficient you are with the Wiimote motion-sensing, so that by the time other games come in, everything ahead would be smooth sailing and easy driving... With a couple of muddy trucks on the side. |

Tagged as the Excite Truck's sole closest competition, Ubisoft's Monster 4x4 World Circuit will also let players get behind the wheel of big-wheeled, no, monster trucks as you rev through stunt tracks located in different parts of the world. The Ubi racer will likewise let you use a steering wheel attachment developed also by Ubisoft, where you place the Wiimote inside it and then manipulate it as you would an ordinary steering wheel. One of the problems with the whole steering wheel attachment in Monster 4x4 World Circuit is the same as the one encountered with Excite Truck: the wheel movements tend to be too sensitive so it's hard to make precise turns and shifts. To perform tricks, quickly loop the controller (like a flip) and it'll also give you the needed turbo boost for when you land. To use your boost, jab the controller forward in a quick manner. According to 1up, they had difficulties pulling off tricks and stunts because there were times when the motion sensor didn't pick up on the Wiimote's movements. As for gameplay modes, you have the single and multiplayer modes with a bunch of mini-games that'll be fun to play with your friends. The guys at 1up tried out the soccer mini-game where up to four cars can drive around, pushing a giant soccer ball into giant goals. The experience however was not that great as it proved to be difficult to make direct contact with the giant soccer ball, much less to actually move it towards the goal. Other than that, the preview doesn't cover much else, so stay tuned and keep checking back with us for more updates as we'll definitely keep you posted for more game developments. Monster 4x4 World Circuit is scheduled for release November 17th. |

Everyone's been talking about the Wiimote. But we're pretty sure you haven't heard of the Wiil yet. Nope, this is not another conjured-up word because it's convenient; it is made up alright, but it is much appropriate. The Wiil refers to the steering 'wheel' that comes with every package of Monster 4x4: World Circuit.
The video below features Ubisoft's very own Alexis Bodard demonstrating just how to use this Wiil. Actually it is relatively easy: just snap in the Wiimote into the steering wheel and that's it. Bodard admits, however, that it is not yet fully functional. Despite that, the very video showcases interesting minute details like the black Wiimote (devkit?) and even Bodard's amusing accent. "Monster 4x4: World Circuit is (and we quote who better else but Bodard himself) a racing game where you have to perform some stunts and you can race very quickly". The game is expected to arrive roaring this November 19. |
