Marvel Ultimate Alliance - Image 1Surfer Girl is at it again, this time bringing up images of what seem to be Activision's Marvel Ultimate Alliance before it was released. On a blog of  "such things that never was," two screenshots show The Legend of Zelda's Link and Metroid's Samus Aran as characters in the action RPG's Wii version.

Wii Most Wanted bundleThe minds behind GameStop have just come up with a new Wii bundle that's slated to ship on January 17. Called the "Nintendo Wii Most Wanted" bundle, it includes the Nintendo Wii system (system, remote controller, nunchuck, stand, sensor, and Wii Sports), a Wii 1GB memory card, and an extra Wiimote.

Apart from Wii Sports, six other titles also come with the bundle. Included are Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Red Steel, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, and Madden NFL 2007. It also includes a 1 Year Product Replacement Plan.

You can order the Nintendo Wii Most Wanted bundle from GameStop for US$ 679.90. Yeah, the price is a bit high, but with 7 games, at least you won't get bored for quite some time.

activisionActivision announced today that their launch games for both the Wii and PS3 have shipped to retail stores nationwide and are already up for grabs. The following games from the company's lineup are now in stores:
The company will also be releasing two more Wii titles on November 22nd, Rapala Tournament Fishing and World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions.

Yeah, we know, these games would mean absolutely nothing without the consoles, but wouldn't you want to get a head start before everyone starts flocking to stores for these games? And for the lucky few who already have their Wii's and PS3's, go grab these games now! (Or maybe after you're done drooling over your beautiful consoles...?)

Fight evil!A few more days. Just a few more days till we can all act like Spider-Man or Wolverine or Elektra. This feeling is probably a lot like how Cartman felt when there were three more days before the Wii was up for sale.

The excitement Marvel fans feel when they hear about Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is proportionate to their love for a particular character. Whether it be acting like a wall-crawling web-slinger, being all angsty like Blade, or breaking the fourth wall in conversations like Deadpool, there's a hero there for everyone. Luckily, Activision knows how to keep us satisfied and leave us wanting for more at the same time.

They've been giving out what could pretty much be the final trailer for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance before Nintendo's new console comes out. There may not be a lot of new footage in there, but they've taken some of the best and funniest parts from some of the previous trailers, added some new stuff and created another teaser for gamers everywhere to think about during the home stretch. As we approach zero hour (yeah, it's a DC reference, go figure), let's keep our eyes on the prize and save our wallets for some Wiimote butt-kicking.

Till then, of course, you might as well watch the launch trailer, right? Now, say your prayers, remember to thank Stan Lee for making so many of those characters in the game, and always remember their old catchphrase: Make Mine Marvel!

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Okay, now we've all seen the Wii commercials and the Wii print ads and the pictures of all those people playing with their Wiis, right? Now, I'm sure you guys must have noticed the, um, look on the models', um, faces while they moved around and posed for the camera. Alright. Now imagine those faces multiplied ten times over.

Whoo! Okay, okay, maybe we're just being shallow, but hey, we're not here to talk about the ad models anyhow. We're here to bring you guys the latest trailer for the Activision title Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the Wii. Yep, after all those trailers and gameplay vids, guess what? We have another one.

This new trailer focuses on gameplay and how the Wii controller is used to control the characters on screen (hence the models). As Captain America, you get to swing the controller around to make his throw his shield at the bad guys. Y'know, there should be bonus points given to people who can do that while singing the theme song from the old Cap cartoons.

Anyway, we also see Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Iron Man in action, although their screen times are a bit short. Oh, and watch out for the girl controlling Storm. Keep an eye on the guy to her left. No idea why, but that part of the video just made us smile.

Check it out guys. Just click on the download link below and don't hesitate to leave a comment if you wanna say something about it.

wiiWant a free Wii? Of course ya do! Well, in addition to the other "Win a Wii" contests we've featured earlier, N-Philes is hosting yet another one!

BUT, this time the stakes are higher, and you'll not only get a chance to take home a free Wii, but also a free copy of Red Steel, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and Dragon Ball Z Budokai: Tenkaichi 2!!!

In a team-up with Activision, Atari, and Ubisoft, N-Philes will be hosting a Win a Wii Comic Contest, where contestants will vie for the much-awaited console and the free games by creating a comic strip based on N-Philes, the Nintendo universe, or the Wii. Time to get those creative juices flowing guys! And as you know, competition will be tough, in fact there have been over 30 entries submitted in less than a week!

You can also create your comics based on the three games also up for grabs; you can turn your strips into an anime or base it on Red Steel's take on the funky Japanese culture. All entries should be submitted by November 11th to give site visitors and the N-Philes community ample time to vote for the most creative comics.

To join the contest, first of all you'll have to register at the N-Philes forums because only registered forum members can join. Once you've done that, it's time to let the smart-assed AND creative Picasso in you take over and create your comics, which you will then send to contest@n-philes.com to submit it straight to the staff. And remember, all entries should be in by November 11.

Visitors can vote November 11, while N-Philes community members will have 'til November 15th to cast their votes. Out of the ten highest-rated comics, the N-Philes staff will choose three lucky winners based on originality and humor. The very lucky winner will be announced on November 18th, a day before the Wii launch.

And because we're such nice people here in QJ, we've provided a link for you guys that'll lead you directly to the N-Philes forums 'coz we know a lot of you will automatically be registering once you read this article. Hahaha. And with that, we wish all Wii-hopefuls tons of luck and you never know, maybe we might feature your winning comic strip right here on QJ.*winks* Good luck!

Wii DVD

Remember Target's Wii endcap that we reported on a few days ago? It turns out that the display contains not only rubber covers, dogtags and the likes. There's actually a DVD there that costs for an amazingly low price of U.S. $ .01. Nope, that wasn't a typo. Just one cent, nothing more and nothing less.

The DVD, which was from publisher Activision, contains media related to games like Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. While it doesn't contains the real games, the trailers and behind the scene movies serve as good alternatives. THe skateboard title even includes ways to win studio walkthrough and locations of the such.

Lunch with Stan Lee, dahling?

If you're a Marvel fan, and you've always wanted to pitch in your ideas on how the stories of the X-Men characters should go, then this might just be your chance, as an opportunity to have lunch with the man behind the creation of about half of the Marvel Universe is up for grabs. That, and a Wii, and a copy of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, all courtesy of the friendly people over at Activision.

So, how do you grab that one-on-one with Stan Lee over coffee and sandwiches? Simple, just head on over to the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance MySpace page, and add them as your friend, and you instantly become qualified to join the contest. Besides this contest though, the MySpace account also contains several movies, a screenshot gallery, lots of wallpapers, as well as free code which you can use to customize your MySpace account with, using the Ultimate Alliance theme.

Better start logging on to your MySpace account because who knows, maybe you'll finally get your chance to say who Jean Grey should REALLY end up with...

(A big thank you goes out to Neil Wood for letting us know about this contest!)

Look, the game has hit the stores. But some of us don't have it yet. So to tide us over, here's a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance video. Dubbed the "Smash Em Bash Em Gameplay HD", this vid (from October 24) has the smashing and bashing. If you want, we also posted the video after this: the October 25 Marvel: Ultimate Alliance "Behind the Scenes Featurette" (although there was nothing "ette" about that; it was big on action and news and Deadpool and Captain America and Stan Lee goodness).

As for this "Smash Em Bash Em" vid, it's one of the better gameplay videos we've seen, even though it's old.
  1. The menu where you select your characters. It's a small auditorium where the heroes are standing (and/or floating) around in dramatic poses. Choose your warriors and head on to the mission.
  2. Teamwork in action. Watch the team go in and beat some bad guys. Combo moves.
  3. Fing Fang Foom.
  4. A whole bunch of our favorite heroes. We were too busy fainting like little girls at the heroes and the amazing way their powers, poses, and coolest moves have been transformed into a good game. Don't believe us? Ask the Xbox 360 people.

Come to think of it, even QJ's resident "Justice League Unlimited" fanboy wrote an article about this game.

The Wii fanboys here are getting it for the Wii (launch title, November 19), the PS3 fanboys are getting it for the PS3 (launch title, November 17), and the sweaty-palmed Xbox 360 fanboys are not going to let any of the others play... (if you haven't been paying attention, it already hit the stores). And spread the word to your PSP and DS buddies to expect it, too - Nov. 7 for the PSP and Dec. 4 for the DS.

Finally, since I haven't been lucky enough to get my hands on the Xbox 360 controller, if any of you out there has already tried this game, do share what you're thinking. That's what the comments system is for, hehe.
