Anyway, 2006 had been a busy year for the director but things are just about to get better. Especially now that the triumvirate of next-gen gaming is already out, we can expect more projects from Boll. But before he takes on other game franchises, the director fondly talks about BloodRayne. He mentioned: If this sequel can match what the first film did on DVD, then there will definitely be a third movie. I like the franchise. The third one will be in the Second World War where the first game was based. We'll likely film it in Eastern Europe to recreate those old German cities during WWII. Aside from the previously mentioned Postal movie, Boll reminded everyone that he will make another based on Wii title Far Cry: Vengeance. The film will have a US$ 30 to US$ 40 million budget and will be filmed in Hawaii this May. Ubisoft, as of this point, has promised to help with the film's finances. Boll, on the other hand, couldn't hide his enthusiasm: Every other game I did so far, the game makers were happy I did a movie to support their franchise. Ubisoft wants me to make a good movie because this is already a big franchise for them and they want to keep it going. I think they will be more involved in the whole process than the other companies before. Furthermore, Boll hinted that the game would be released some time in 2008 alongside a sequel of the game. Finally, the German director disclosed that he passed the movie Alone in the Dark II to his writers. |

Far Cry: Vengeance sure is getting more interesting by the minute. We've had a good look at the jungle video, and I pretty much agree with what Remi (our fellow QJ blogger) said about it: It sure looks impressive.
In this FPS game, you play as Jack Carver, who initially wanted to get a decent vacation over at Jacutan archipelago. His little "fun under the sun" goes haywire when a hot chick approaches him "for a little help", which causes him to be hunted for a crime he didn't commit. And you dear player, must turn Jack Carver into a James Bond of some sort, or else you'd end up as dead meat. Now, we have here a Far Cry: Vengeance trailer, which actually seems like a far cry from the game. Why? I'll just let you see it for yourself. |

Far Cry: Vengeance for the Wii is set for a December 5 release date and from where we stand, we have given you all the updates we could get our hands on. There's that controls trailer that would truly prepare you for some FPS action, there are the screenshots, and we even added some game details for you. But since it's not our hobby to break a good habit, today we will be giving you some snippets of the Far Cry: Vengeance jungle.
From what we can see, the outdoor graphics is pretty impressive. And on the upper right, you could see how the gameplay is being controlled via the Wiimote and the nunchuck. It looks like Ubisoft has outdone themselves, and looking at their other creations such as Red Steel and even Rayman Raving Rabbids, there's no denying the fact that the Ubisoft team really know how to do their art and how to make it mesh with other game factors. Anyhow, we'll quit blabbing. Here's the video we found over at YouTube. Feel free to think out loud through the comments section below. |

Here's a good thing to buffer that teaser though. They've recently made a trailer that focuses on the gameplay. What specific aspect of gameplay, you ask? Controls. Aside from being treated to in-game clips of the FPS title, the video acts as a tutorial more than anything. As the clips flash by, the Wiimote and Nunchuck have been superimposed on screen and demonstrate the various button clicks and movements that you'd have to do in order to execute certain tasks. Firing a gun, zooming into a target, throwing a hefty punch...things like that. Fast-paced as it is, your true survival skills will be put to the test in this game. Now, we're thinking that its release on December 5 won't give us enough time to prepare. What with all the war paint, bandannas, and belt straps we'd have to put on, we're concerned that "dressing for the kill" just won't cut it. Download: [Far Cry: Vengeance controls trailer] |

Here's a useful piece of advice: if you're ever chilling in a tropical paradise and then some hot woman you don't know asks you to help her pull off a dangerous heist, just say no. Chances are you'll end up like ol' Jack Carver and get blamed for murder. Then the next thing you know, your dream vacation just turned into a rebel-infested, tropical hell. Well, if you also had Jack Carter's feral abilities then maybe you'd survive, but the chances of that happening just don't seem too good.Well, with that out of the way, let's get right on to the good stuff. We have six new screenshots of the newest Far Cry game from Ubisoft, Far Cry: Vengeance for Nintendo's next-generation Wii console. Based on what we're seeing down there, Far Cry: Vengeance is going to be one beautiful game. Just check out how green that grass is. We bet the blood that gets spilled on it is going to look just as vivid. Aside from the screenshots, we also have a shot of the game's official boxart, which you can see to the left of this block of text. Check 'em out and enjoy. |

Browsing through the web, we came across these three supposed official boxarts for upcoming game titles for Wii. First is the rumored boxart for Nintendo's WarioWare: Smooth Moves title. This wacky game includes using the Wiimote in mastering the moves to control the character. The unique 20 abilities of the Wiimote allow players to make the characters run, cut a barrel, do the hula-hoop, and other challenges. The game showcases 200 exciting mini-games and it will be released this holiday for Japan and first quarter next year for U.S. territories.
The next rumored boxart is Electronic Arts' racing game, Need for Speed: Carbon, which based its ideas from real life racing clubs. In this game, players will be able to recruit teammates and take part in racing with stakes like winning a territory. The game also allows players to "Trick Out" their rides. In addition to that, the game also features drift racing, the same as that in "The Fast and the Furios: Tokyo Drift". Another perk of Need for Speed: Carbon is the participation of model and actress Emmanuelle Vaugier. The game will released sometime in November this year. Last, but definitely not the least, is Ubisoft's upcoming FPS game called Far Cry: Vengeance. The game will take full advantage of the Wiimote and the Nunchuk attachment to shoot, climb, launch grenades, and other activities to achieve the ultimate revenge. The official plot has been released and the game is also expected November this year. Whether these boxarts are official or not, we promise to update you as soon as new information surfaces up. So stay tuned! |

German magazine N-Zone gives us a couple of impressive scans of Far Cry: Vengeance. We haven't really heard much from the game since the TGS season and Ubisoft has only released a few screenshots that didn't show too many details of the game. Despite that, a certain amount of anticipation has been going around those expecting for the Wii releases, so you bet we're going to get the updates from Ubisoft as they come. Far Cry: Vengeance has a plot that sounds a lot like Samson meets Delilah, except that Jack Carver must face his nemesis, Kien Do. The game is the perfect way to showcase the Wii remote to drive, shoot, slash, jump, and climb your way through a rebel-infested tropical mayhem. You'll be unleashing the Wii's controls to throw grenades, swim, dive, jump, shoot, climb, balance yourself, and ride jet skis and hovercrafts, among other things. Far Cry: Vengeance is expected this December. |

As all eyes are focused on the unfolding Tokyo Game Show in Japan, a rather far cry is heard about halfway around the globe. It came apparently from videogame developer-publisher Ubisoft. And the message is the official announcement of Far Cry Vengeance, together with first details and some official images.
The game follows the Jacutan Archipelago events that changes the life of main character Jack Carver. A gorgeous woman suddenly appears at his home port in Micronesia, and drags him to a dangerous heist. All of a sudden, he is then hunted for a murder he never committed. To fight back, he must unleash the most savage of instincts he alone possesses. This interesting plot becomes well, more interesting, because of the new gaming experience offered by the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Imagine yourself driving, shooting, jumping, balancing, climbing, grenading and of course, feral attacking. Opt for a surprise attack using your machete or wipe out the rebels with a machine gun. The possibilities, as they say, are limitless. It is also interesting to note that the game's environments are highly interactive, allowing players to use them to their advantage. Furthermore, the new Chaos mode allows gamers to fight against each other until there is just one Jack Carver standing. Far Cry Vengeance is a Wii launch title. |
