Luc Bernard unleashes his brash honesty in an interview, revealing that he does not like the way his own game, Eternity's Child, turned out. There are a couple of other things he does not like or couldn't care less about, and we're sure you're intrigued to know what this frank developer has to say. Full article houses them all, plus an update! Thanks to Esa Linna for the heads up! |

You're probably heard that Luc Bernard's Eternity's Child is heading for the Nintendo Wii. That's true, except that it won't be a full-fledged Wii disc; instead, the game will be up for grabs on the WiiWare Download Channel. More on the new direction that Luc Bernard's brainchild is taking after the jump. |

Ever so slowly but surely, more details are coming out on Luc Bernard's Eternity's Child - and with very good reason, we'd have to say. The themes touched on in this Wii-DS title are not the typical ones you'd usually encounter in games. Case in point: the newly-revealed character, Rani. Rani is a boy who wants to be a girl. Joining up with Angel, they make a rather curious couple, don't you say? Anyway, Rani will serve as Angel's sidekick as they journey together in search of their goals. We're sure you'd love to know more about him, like we do. So why don't you check out these screenshots and a sketch, which Kotaku got from the artist himself? |

Eternity's Child, originally meant for the XBLA, will instead be appearing in the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS. The charming hand drawn platform game was pulled out of XBLA because of size limitations, so developers Alten8 Limited opted to go for the Nintendo consoles. The game will even get to have a third dimension in the DS version. The story of Eternity's Child is based on the imagination of Luc Bernard, who offers us a dark fairy tale of post apocalyptic proportions. It follows the story of a once-winged orphan named Angel who is quite possibly the last of his kind. He travels a world ravaged by ecological disasters and killer robots to search for the rest of his species. Each frame in the Nintendo Wii version is entirely hand drawn - and beautifully done too - while the Nintendo DS version will be in full 3D. The DS version will not have the same story as the Wii version although it will still be a platformer. Eternity's Child will feature an orchestral soundtrack (promising old-style Disney songs) and the Wii version will have two player co-op mode. |

There's a very interesting game coming its way to the Wii: introducing Luc Bernard's Eternity's Child, a game that is supposed to be developed as an Xbox Live download.
Why did it end up in the Wii? Luc Bernard, the independent developer behind the game and teller of dark fairy tales, said that the limit of 150 MB limit per downloadable game is too constricting for a great 2D game such as Eternity's Child. He then decided to release it as a full game for the Nintendo Wii, since the finished game will be too large to store into the Virtual Console. Eternity's Child is about a fallen angel (creatively named Angel) whose wings were cut off to avoid death. True to Bernard's preferred dark fairy-tale genre, Angel will traverse worlds rendered in a cuter shade of gothic. To better see how Eternity's Child will turn out, do click on the Play button on the video clip below. Enjoy! |
