Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden Famitsu scans - Image 1Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden Famitsu scans - Image 2

Here are two new Famitsu scans of upcoming Nintendo Wii video game Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden as posted by one NeoGAF forum member. The title itself is being developed by Capcom and is highly reminiscent of the visual style of the Samurai Warriors franchise.

Devil Kings 2 takes place during the Warring States Period when Japan was split into many minor states battling for power and land. With that premise and setting, players can expect to meet and control a lot of mighty and gallant warriors who will only be too happy to mutilate any enemy close at hand.

So far, little is still known about the title but some of the screenshots we've shared with you before revealed that aside from the normal story mode, Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden will also sport versus modes and some minigame features. It was also said that the title will rely heavily on the Wiimote/Nunchuk combination.

While waiting for more details and release date for Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden, just enjoy the magazine scans below.

Samurai Warriors Katana - Image 1 Samurai Warriors Katana - Image 2

Koei's Samurai Warriors Katana finally got introduced in a smashing media event in a demo held in Kyoto, Japan. The media event lasted for two days (September 29 to 30) and was carried out with the whole shebang: old-school Japan settings, staff in traditional costumes, and of course, hands-on demos of the game. Game media blow-outs like this one makes us wish we live in Japan.

Capcom's Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden (also known as Basara 2: Heroes in Japan) also made an appearance, with hands-on playable demos as well. It's not the surprising, given that Devil Kings 2 is using more or less the same game model as the Dynasty Warriors franchise

This new Samurai Warriors title is unique compared to its predecessors since it employs a first person perspective, using the Wiimote's motion sensor to hack and slash your way through hordes of soldiers. The game is already out in Japan, with a December 3 release in the US

Devil Kings 2 - Image 1

If you're looking for the kind of action on your Nintendo Wii where you have to plow through countless enemy hordes in objective-based gameplay, Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden might just become your cup of tea. Developed by Capcom and borrowing its look from the Samurai Warriors model, Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden offers sheer, almost mindless chaos for hours of enjoyment.

As in the Sony PlayStation 2 original, you'll have to take control of different mighty warriors in a time of warring states to bring order to the land. You can do this either by taking your weapon and mutilating hapless nameless soldiers or by unleashing spectacular special attacks which will, err, mutilate your opponents even faster with a better quality of arterial spray. Check out these screens for a preview of what's to come.

Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden is set for the Nintendo Wii game console. Developers have assured us that the clever control scheme that gamers love about the Wii will be maximized, and that makes us more exciting to hack and slash again.

Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden - Image 1

Slash-em-up goodness at its finest is heading your way with these new screenshots of Capcom's Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden for the Nintendo Wii. This time, it's all about head-to-head, splitscreen combat, with a dash of mini-game madness thrown into the mix. Then, without further adieu, let's step back into the world where the sword rules all, and commanders send their massive legions to combat like sheep to a slaughter.

So what's new with these screenshots? Just the fact that they're all about the game's versus mode. The screen is divided horizontally, with Player 1 up top and Player 2 down below. The camera consistently tracks both players from behind, which could make for some very intense fighting scenes as the two player characters eventually collide. It's a classic setup, and works fine here.

There's also a few screens of what appears to be another head-to-head match, but this time it looks more of a mini-game match than anything else. It seems to involve hitting the orange, wide-eyed idols scattered around the stage. It's a bit weird, but no doubt it'll make sense as soon as we get wind of the game's NA release.

For the finale, the complete roster of the game is revealed through a screenshot, and the cast is looking pretty healthy at around 30 characters. No news if there are going to be any secret characters to choose from, though, but 30 characters to choose from is definitely healthy pickings.

Updates about Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden as we get them. In the meantime, enjoy the screenshots!

Capcom, a major gaming company - Image 1

A couple of days ago we gave you the list of new games Capcom would be showing off at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS). Now, we have footage of the major highlights of the event itself.

As promised, they showed some amazing clips of the games they promised, which include Project Treasure Hunter Z (or Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure as it's now known), Megaman Star Force 2, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Basara 2 (a.k.a. Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden), and We Love Golf among other games. They even showed the new Wii zapper that goes perfectly with the new Resident Evil game.

Too bad they didn't show off any more clips from the Devil May Cry 4 game. That would definitely have made any Capcom fan's day. Then again, according to the video, all the games showcased so far were for the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms, leaving us to save our Dante fixations for another day. Until then, just hop on over to the source link to watch the video.

Katakura in action - Image 1

We've got some new Devil Kings 2 screenshots and artwork for you to enjoy, but those screenshots aren't the usual ones we normally see for video games. Instead, we've got three pieces of artwork for the generals in the game, as well as six new screenshots of anime-styled goodness for you to enjoy.

For instance, the above screenshots shows off Katakura as he prepares to strike at a foe. You'll also see some shots of two guys facing off in battle, as well as a shot of an army getting ready to strike. On the flipside, the three artworks are of three generals you'll eventually face in-game. We don't know much about them, but the one with the twin spears certainly looks cool enough.

In any case, keep checking QJ for more updates on screenshots and artwork related to Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden. For now, enjoy our humble offerings.

Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden - Image 1

If there's anything to be said about Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden, it certainly lets you kill a lot of people in a short amount of time.

But instead of the usual hack-and-slash moves found in other games of the same one-man-army genre, it lets you use incredibly-awesome powers to freeze time, have your way with your enemies with your sharp metal object of choice, and then watch as the bodies crumple to the ground.

In this screenshot update, however, we see more about the actual characters rather than the army-slaying you'll be knee-deep in come the game's release. From the screenshots, there's certainly a lot of eye candy to savor in Capcom's Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden, with colorful graphics.

The visual style is also striking, heavily influenced by anime - evident by the usage of overly-ornate costumes, and ridiculously-over-sized weapons. Everything looks solid, sharp, and very detailed, and from what we've seen in the game's videos, it's going to be a blast to play.

Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden - Image 1

An update on Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden's official site heralds a batch of screenshots of the newly playable characters in the upcoming video game. Famitsu reported on the three characters that are going to be playable for Devil Kings 2's Wii outing: Katakura Kojuro, Azai Nagamasa, and Oichi.

In Sengoku Basara 2, the three characters were actually NPCs, but in the Wii version, we'll get a chance to check out their powers and moves. In the screenshots, the guy in the blue and brown jacket is Katakura. He's a strategist and bodyguard for Masamune, and uses a katana to wipe out enemies.

The guy in samurai armor is Azai, formerly an ally of Nobunaga. His armor and long sword looks a bit Western, though he also sports a dash-stab move like Masamune's. The third in today's roster is Oichi, Azai's wife and Nobunaga's sister. She looks quite innocent and damsel-in-distress-ish but we're sure she packs a mean punch. Don't believe us? Just take a look at that two-bladed naginata.

Anyway, we'll leave to check out the screenshots for yourselves. Stay tuned for more of Capcom's Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden news and eye candy.

New screenshots and artwork for Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden - Image 1As Capcom's Devil Kings 2: Heroes Gaiden is slowly creeping towards its Japan winter release, more and more information is being released for it. So far no news on whether or not we'll be seeing it here in the US, but one can hope.

Quite a few of our import gamers here at QJ.NET have been jumping up and down excitedly at the prospect of getting their hands on the game, and after seeing these screenshots from Famitsu, I can see why.

In addition, the visuals themselves look nice and neatly rendered. Finally, it makes us wonder how the developers plan on implementing controls with the Wiimote. If you actually have to do the motions like the character is doing on screen, then it would be pretty sweet.

Anyway, enough gushing about the game. Here are the screenshots you came to see, enjoy. Don't forget to keep checking back here for more updates on the newest and hottest games here on QJ.NET.
