Dead Space: Extraction - Image 1Dead Space Extraction moved an underwhelming 9,000 units for the first week of its release, September 29 through October 3. This was revealed in NPD's software sales report. Jesse Divinich of EEDAR, however, says that Electronic Arts probably saw that one coming.

Dead Space - Image 1 "EA launched the game in 2008 and is working on the second and third installments." This is the line from Variety's piece on the Dead Space film that got tongues wagging as to whether or not Electronic Arts is indeed concurrently developing parts 2 and 3. Dead Space: Extraction - Image 1Here's a new video for Visceral Games and Electronic Arts' Wii exclusive, Dead Space: Extraction. In the vid, the Visceral devs give us an overview of the new mechanics and controls they've integrated into Extraction like the "glow worm", which lets players get some quick makeshift lighting in the darker areas of the game, and the two-player alternating puzzle-solving mechanic.

Dead Space: Extraction - Image 1When Dead Space: Extraction was announced for the Wii, there were some worries that it's just going to be some half-assed clone of the original game just to make a quick buck. Apparently, this isn't the case. An interview with the game's production team reveals that the game will be a full game on its own.
