It's only been mere hours since Game Developers Conference 2007 opened its doors and yet news of next year's event are already circulating in, how do you say it, teh intarwebz. It's been a real crazy day here at the QJ quarters, what with all the GDC updates pouring in (in torrents, if I might add). Personally, I'd just like to deal with the ongoing GDC first, but just so you guys are way ahead of everybody else, we'll share with you the details we scored on next year's GDC. According to DevelopMag, show organiser CMP has already confirmed this early on the dates and venues for GDC 2008. If things go as planned, the Game Developers Conference 2008 will take place on February 18-22, and will be held once again at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Now that we have that out of the way, let's shift the focus back to this year's event. GDC Mobile, the Serious Games Summit, Casual Games Summit and Independent Game Festival are the front acts for GDC 2007, with the main conference and expo scheduled to hit the stage on Wednesday. That said, allow this writer to sneak out and get back to insane GDC news reporting. Stay tuned for more. |

One word: YEEEAAAARGGGGHHH!!!!! Errr...okay, not exactly a word, but expresses this writer's exact sentiments upon seeing this Virtual Console gameplay vid for Super Ghouls and Ghosts. As in "yeeaarggh I can't wait to play this game!!" *pulls at hair* But okay, insanity symptoms aside, we think we can all agree that this would be one of the most kickass games to make its way to the VC. Whether the game will also be making rounds on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live, we'll have to wait and see. Meanwhile, load up on Super Ghouls and Ghosts via this gameplay vid here. Enjoy! |

Toys "R" Us has great news for all the Wiimote-whacking fellas out there, they're currently offering a '2+1 free' special promo wherein you'll get to snag a Ubisoft Wii game for free...if you buy two other titles, that is. This is great news especially for those who haven't gone out and grabbed their own copy of the games you see in the image above. (Although, why anyone would wait this long before grabbing Red Steel is just beyond me. Hehe.) Currently being sold for US$ 49.99 each, the Ubisoft titles included in the promo are GT Pro Series, Open Season, Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Monster 4x4. We dunno how long this promo will run, so if you don't have any of these games yet, we suggest you run out and grab your copies now. |

Looks like users have learned from the numerous "Wiinjuries" and broken TVs 'coz we haven't been hearing any news on further Wiimote-related incidents lately. While we know that some of those injuries are serious and not to be laughed at, we gotta admit we kinda miss hearing about the less grave ones that are just plain funny (or is it just me?).So before all the "wtf? this isn't news!" comments start flooding our site, we're gonna wave the white flag and say that even though this isn't news (yes, we are aware of that, hence the off-topic tag), we decided to share this with you guys. Y'know, for old times' sake. Anyhoo, today's Wiimote injury (if you can even call it that) involves an IGN forum poster by the name of WishingTikal who has accidentally ripped off a chunk of her hair while playing Sonic and the Secret Rings. According to WishingTikal, this happened while she was trying to pull off an attack wherein you'd have to give the Wiimote a good push when a chunk of her hair got stuck in the wrist strap just in time when she pushed the Wiimote forward. Tsk tsk tsk. And as you can probably see from the image, that's quite a lot of hair there fellas. Add to that the fact that WishingTikal dons long locks, well, we can't imagine how much that must've hurt. Our hearts bleed for you WishingTikal. But hey, if you wanna make money off of that hairchunk, send us a word on pricing and we'll see what we can do. Hahaha. |

We told you about Harvest Moon's site launch two months ago, and while the game has been out in Japan for quite some time now, U.S. Wii owners would have to wait just a little bit more to get their hands on the game. So while us here in the U.S. are waiting for the game to be released (it still dons that vague Q2 2007 release date), we see no reason for us to not load up on game details and goodies while waiting for this fruit to be harvested and reaped right here on American shores. And with that thought in mind, we're here to tell you that the game's official site has just been updated to include even more info on Harvest Moon including how-to's on the Wiimote and Nunchuk usage in the game and detailed character profiles. The site now boasts of even more info for the yet-to-be-released (in the U.S. at least) Natsume-developed game so if you wanna check it out (as we know you do), simply hit the read link below and you're good to go - presuming you understand Japanese, by the way. |

Ninty fanboys have just gotten another reason to rejoice about because their beloved cheat device Action Replay is now also heading to the Wii!Previously available only for the DS, Action Replay is listed as now available also for the Wii. With this recent development, it seems that Datel is really starting to move more into the other Nintendo console...much to the joy of Wii users, of course. If you remember a few months back, we told you that Datel is also working on the Wii Freeloader -- a Wii software that will allow Wii owners in the UK to play U.S. titles and vice-versa. Action Replay for the Wii is currently listed on EB with a release date of August 15th, and sells for US$ 34.99 |

...And the Medal of Honor: Vanguard goodies just keep pouring in. Just a few hours ago we brought you all-new screens for the WWII-themed FPS from EALA, and while that was cool and all, we bet you're still curious as to how the battlefield warfare will play out on your screens. So to satisfy that curiosity of yours, we're gonna share with you this action-packed trailer we found floating around GameTrailers. Watch and learn as the members of the infantry make no qualms about storming into various locations and blowing their enemies' heads off. You'll also be able to see whether EALA really delivers the cinematic moments and enhanced graphics system that they promise. But enough with the chitchat, we'll just leave you with the vid and you be the judge. |

EA has remained pretty tight-lipped about this upcoming WWII-themed FPS that's currently cooking in their LA labs, Medal of Honor: Vanguard. And we gotta be honest, when it was first announced for the Wii, it was met with...meh...lukewarm responses. Some of you even said that unless it has a multiplayer feature, you wouldn't consider getting this game. Well. While we can't do anything about that, or assure you guys that it will have a multiplayer mode, what we can do though is give you even more sneak peeks into this game to help you gauge and decide whether it will be making rounds on your consoles. How, you ask? Via these brand new screens! Now just in case you've forgotten, MoH Vanguard will place players squat in the middle of the WWII where you'll take on the role of Frank Keegan, Corporal of the 82nd Airborne Division and lead your team as you go out in battlefields across Europe. The game will also feature Wii-specific combat controls wherein the Wiimote will be used for aiming and firing, while the Nunchuk's analog stick and two buttons will control player movement. |

This is exactly the kind of thing that helps the ease pain of waiting for games while they're being released earlier in Japan... sneak peeks and gameplay previews. We've brought you guys the Japanese trailer to this game just a few days ago. And because we know how hungry you are for more Fire Emblem: The Goddess of Dawn goodies, we know that definitely won't suffice until you get your hands on the game. So here we are, bringing you the Black Knight gameplay vid we found floating around YouTube. Now we know how "sarcastically constructive" most of you guys can get when commenting on the players' skills in gameplay vids. To preempt that, allow us to remind you that if it weren't for these guys who share with us their experiences, we wouldn't be able to get an actual feel of how the game plays out. So don't bash 'em and strip them off their dignity, alright? Hahaha! Enjoy the vid! Much thanks to yui2006xp for posting this! |
