Pimp my Pong - Image 1It's an unusual name, we know, but it seems apt given that this Wii homebrew game project is all about innovating Pong on the Wii. Pimp my Pong is like any other Pong clone known in existence, but there's a catch to the game experience when coupled to a motion-sensing controller. Learn more about the Pimp my Pong at the full story.

Wii Web Server alpha v0.73 - Image 1New and improved, Wii Web Server now contends with the glaringly obvious concern - that is, server security. Wii Web Server alpha v0.73's security measures may not be so robust as a Raptor Eagle (in its hayday), but the fewer vulnerabilities coupled with a de-militarizing firewall could take you places - and back, headache-free. See what else has changed since Cboomf and Felix123 released alpha v0.71 at the full story.

DragonMedia Player v0.03 Alpha - Image 1Was that a collective sigh of relief we heard right there? It probably was, because thanks to homebrew, the Wii's value as an indispensable multi-purpose living room machine has grown even further. You read that right the first time. Look to the full story for more on the WiiBrew multi-source media player project.

Tanks v0.3a blasts those bugs dead, adds nunchuk support - Image 1Downloaded the first build of Wii Tanks for the Nintendo Wii yet? Addicting as it is, Tanks version 0.1a was a very early prototype build. It had four-player deathmatches locked in, courtesy of homebrew developer Grillo, but as extended gameplay soon revealed, there were a some bugs that left a lot to be desired. Wii Tanks version 0.3a swats a lot of them down nicely. Oh and there's a little more.

On Shelves This Week: June 29 to July 5, 2008 - Image 1So what's going to be in our videogaming menu starting this week? A whole lot of DS games once again, we tell you, though there's a few gems or two in the Nintendo handheld rough on Tuesday. There's a music rhythm game for almost every console out there, plus a couple new additions to the portfolio of PC games. Somehow we're also seeing another relaunching of Gears of War for the Xbox 360 the "Refresh" edition. We don't know why it's re-listed, but it is. The full list follows at the full story.

Missile Command v0.4a - Wii-fied classic arcade action - Image 1Remember the old days of Missile Command? Back then, we had just a knob to tilt around so that the crosshairs lined up right. Constant speed of the targeting reticle had us thinking strategically and proactively instead of reactively. Now imagine replacing that control scheme with the Wii remote - just point and fire. Fantastic idea, isn't it? That's what you might say about homebrew developer ulti's Missile Command v0.4 once you give it a whirl - after the full story, of course.

NeoPop GX - NeoGeo Pocket emulation arrives on Wii, Gamecube - Image 1NeoGeo Pocket emulation on the Wii and Gamecube is now a reality, thanks to homebrew developer Askot. The coder, known for introducing the first NES emulator on Nintendo's next generation console, has been a driving force behind most of the Wii ports game console emulators, and today isn't one to detract from legacy. This time, Askot picked up the NeoPop GX emulator and sifted in Wii support with successful results. More on NeoPop GX 20-06-2008 at the full story.
