So, you're done playing with Zelda and Wario ware? Well, Konami is keeping the Wii love alive by bringing in two new Wii games available on the market this week. Konami announces that they will be shipping Wing Island and Kororinpa to stores all over the US.

If you haven't tried flying using the Wii, then Wing Island would be your first stop in getting a shot on what it's like flying in a plane with your squadron at your side. On the other hand, Kororinpa: Marble Mania is a Ninty game that's built to waste more of your time. You will use your Wiimote to flip, twist, and turn pieces in order to get your marble through a maze. If you've got time to waste, then give these games a go and grab them at your nearest game store.

Both games are rated E by the ESRB and would be sold for around $39.99.

Buy: [Wing Island (Wii)]

This is a WeeMee - Image 1

Last November, Wee World filed a copyright lawsuit case against Wii last november when Nintendo launched the Wii Mii concept on their console. According to Wee World, the Wii Mii was a concept stolen from their avatar program called Wee Mee. Wee Mee, much like the Wii Mii (getting tongue tied and confused already ) is an avatar making program for AOL users and even for DS and Xbox360 users. Now, WeeWorld is saying that Ninty has stolen their name. On the other hand, Ninty says that the wordplay on "we" and "me" is fair use.

The battle for the rightful pun of "We Me" has come to stop as WeeWorld has dropped charges against Nintendo, leaving the case open, without prejudice and subject for future litigation. Wee World wants to see how Wii Mii plays first and how it would affect Wee Mee's market.

On the other hand, Nintendo charged Wee World and asked them to pay over $400,000 dollars for all the litigation costs that they spent on this legal battle. Ninty also insists that the case should dropped with prejudice since people can easily distinguish the difference between the two brands and in no way is Wii Mii's market the same as Wee Mee's market.

Well, I'd say the best solution is for Ninty to call on their best defense attorneys (Phoenix Wright or Mia Fey, perhaps?) and get this legal battle over and done with. We wouldn't want to be hearing "Objection!" while surfing our Wii Channel.

Fans of Shounen Jump title Reborn will be pleased to hear that their favorite home tutoring assassin will be invading the Wii! Yes, much like One Piece and Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, also known in the US as Reborn, will get a 3D look when Tsuna and his mafia battle it out on the Wii.

The screens from Famitsu are great by far, but not entirely as impressive since we've seen battle systems like this with Bleach Wii. To add, Katekyo Hitman Reborn doesn't have swords so you can never really say how the gameplay will turn out. What is interesting though based on the screens is you get to have four of your mafia famiglia with you as support. We don't know if this means that you can switch to these people at any time, or if you can call on them if you want a special trick.

The Famitsu update also gives us a screen of Tsuna, the main character of Reborn as well as Mukuro, your primary villain in the game. Kai Mukuro is one of the 3 Mafia assassins who recently escaped jail. He is from a rival family who has been tasked to kill the Vongole's heir, Tsuna.

Reborn!Reborn!

You can enjoy more of Reborn's gameplay screens after the jump!

Dragon Quest Swords

Square Enix's Wii venture is definitely a sight to behold. All thanks to the lovely designs of Akira Toriyama, this new Dragon Quest story has a medieval and baroque feeling to it. May I add that there's a tinge of gothic Lolita in it too?

Well, Famitsu graced us with a little more information about Dragon Quest Swords, particularly two of the characters that we will be playing with. The names in this article have been directly translated from the Japanese. It may still be changed once the official english names are released.

The first of the lot is Setia, which, as described by Famitsu, is a lovely little girl covered in sexy clothes. If there'd be a hot gothic Lolita in the world of Dragon Quest Swords, then Setia would be the queen. Now, just by looking at Setia, it would be interesting to know she was actually a cloistered girl, raised in the monastery of Al Sword as a monk. However, trouble forced Setia to go into an adventure to find a solution for their town's dilemma. She is a support type character; hence, you've got to keep her close to you.

The second character previewed by Famitsu is Dean. Dean is a noble who's got some narcissistic issues. Why shouldn't he? He's the prince of Al Sword! Prince Dean has been trained in fencing and attack magic thanks to the royal family. As seen in the preview, his specialty is fire. However, even if he is the prince of the kingdom, this doesn't stop Dean from traveling with you in your adventure.

Now that the first leg of the holidays is over, Japan takes a look at who is the victor in the console race. As we all know, two new consoles were released this year, but according to OtaRoad, the Wii and the PS3 are nowhere near to selling like hotcakes in Japan. Rather, it's the year-old DS Lite that's raking in the cash.

In one of the stores in Akihabara, it seems that the DS Lite has beaten the PS3 and the Wii. It also seems that the otakus were gunning for the games that came with the DS Lite; for example, many of them who were getting the DS were buying to prepare for the coming of Dragon Quest IX which will be out this month.

Perhaps we have to wait for big titles such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl or even Metal Gear Solid 4 to come out before we see Japan's otakus clamor over the new consoles. But for now, it's the DS Lite that conquered Japanese homes this holiday season.

So, you want to be a shinigami like Ichigo. But neither the Wii nor the Bleach Wii game have been released yet. You've been waiting for months in such agony that you want to grab your TV's remote and start practicing your Bankai moves. Well, this article is a call to all wannabe-shinigamis who want to train their WiiMote moves for Bleach Wii. Better give a shout out to the people at EG Japan as they have compiled the moves you need to practice in order to make great combos in Wii. So grab a remote as here's a rundown of the different moves in Bleach Wii.

1111

  • Basic Moves
    • Slice (horizontal cut) - shake your WiiMote in a horizontal motion
    • Slash (vertical cut) - shake your WiiMote in a vertical motion
    • Stab - point your WiiMote straight at the screen and stab.
    • Flash (strong attack) - put more force and distance in your slice/slash/stab. A flash takes down your opponent even if he is on guard
    • Movement - use the analog stick in the WiiMote to move closer or farther from your enemy. The game sports 360 degrees angle so there should be no problem in moving around.
    • Special attacks - Not yet developed for the Wiimote but it's guaranteed to be an easy execution.
The full article awaits after the jump!

In Japan, it’s common for temples to hold festivals. They do this to either celebrate the New Year, a bountiful harvest, or the establishment of the temple. Sometimes, they hold a festival to commemorate the season or the local Shinto deity. In these festivals, there are usually lots of fanfare, ranging from games to catch small fishes in paper nets to throwing rings at the toy that you want. It is this joyous atmosphere that Ennichi no Tatsujin (Temple Festival Master), Wii’s new mindlessly fun game, tries to emulate.

The game sports an array of different festival games. For this update, they’ve released four previews of the games that you will be able to play. The first one would be a fish-catching game. In festivals, you have to catch a small goldfish by using a paper dipper. The game relies on your quick reflexes as you wouldn’t want your paper getting too wet. In here, you simply move the Wiimote to get the fish and press a button to scoop it.

The next game is a throwing game wherein you must throw a ring to get a prize. With the Wiimote, you must shake the Wiimote in order to get the distance, direction, and the strength that you need to throw the ring to the right toy. The third game is fishing for yoyo. With this game, you aim for the yoyo that you want to pick. And then, you have to hang your Wiimote down in order to fish for the yoyo that you want. It mimics the movement of the game as you try to raise the string of your Wiimote to try to fish the yoyo that you want.

The last game isn’t actually a drumming game, but a balloon making game. Using your Wiimote and your nunchucks, at the cue of the tune, you have to twist your Wiimote and your nunchucks to the specified twist indicated in the circle. When the tune is over, you have a beautiful balloon.

Nintendo never fails to create the most brainless yet fun games ever. And here they are with another mindless game that will definitely keep you making some balloon art of your own. The game will be out on December 2. So, to spend the holidays right, take this Festival game with you and have some festival fun in your own home. Now if only the game also came with some festival snacks, then that would make the game the best ever!

Big fans of Bleach will have a field day in the coming days as Sega announces a limited edition release for those who pre-order Bleach Wii Shiraha Kirameku Rondo. For those who reserve the game early, they'll get a pretty casing for their game as well as a premium DVD. The premium DVD is a goldmine for Bleach fans as it contains artworks, animation sequences, and over 80 minutes of demos of game. There are also interviews of voice actors and a sneak peek at the game's production. The premium DVD is free if you reserve the game in Sega Direct. For big fans, it’s quite a steal.

As the cover shows Arturo, a Grimmjow-looking Arrancar, one could only speculate that Bleach’s Wii exploit will go as far as the Arrancar story line. The Arrancars are hollows who have taken their masks off and have gained the powers of a shinigami. They are ruthless enemies and could be an outright challenge. Will Bleach’s Wii take us deeper into the shinigami world? Well, until the game comes out, the least we could do is speculate with the screenshots.

Hidechan Radio broadcasted live from TGS and with them in the studio is Super Smash Bros. Creator Masahiro Sakurai. Naturally, since Hidechan Radio is all about Kojima’s sons, and since Snake is coming out in Super Smash Brothers Brawl, they can’t help but grill the creator on what to expect for Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii.

Hosts of Hidechan radio just had to ask the first question “How’s the development of Smash Brothers?” Sakurai replies that at first, he really feels happy hearing about it from people, but for this interview, he feels quite troubled by it. He somehow manages to laugh a bit with the question, but in the end, he says that things were going well, and so was his salary. The next big question was when the game was coming out. Again, Sakurai just laughed and mentioned that the game could be out sometime 2007, but added “But that’s what I’ve been saying before, haven’t I?” So, up ‘til now, there hasn’t been any clear indication when the game will definitely be out.

Kojima was conducting the interview yet he also didn't reveal much about the extent of his participation in the development of the game. The boys definitely left their fans hanging in this one.

At the end of the show, the hosts of Hidechan Radio mentioned that big names of the gaming industry have convened in TGS, not only to talk about games, but also for a grand master plan of producing a Japan game concert much like Play. Naturally, Hidechan Radio gets dibs on the Metal Gear end, but we have to wait and see what are the other plans for this coming game music concert.

Pre-Order: [Super Smash Bros. Brawl]
