Ahead of the official sales numbers of the NPD Group, both analyst firms Wedbush Morgan (with posterboy Michael Pachter) and EEDAR predict that the Xbox 360 whooped the PlayStation 3 for the month of September. Surprise?

Homebrew developer BScrk has released a new game for the Wii called Wiiero, a clone of the classic game Liero. If you guys haven't heard of the game, it's like a real-time version of Worms. Details after the link.

Hmm. I see CliffyB is making bold statements yet again. Bold as they come, it's always interesting to see how a game developer assesses the current playing field that he is working in. So what's Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski commenting on now? In an interview, he remarked that some of the more influential game developers out there aren't always given the honor or appreciation that they so deserve.

Team Twiizers has done it again, in a major, major way. In a new video, Marcan shows off BootMii, which takes over the Wii's boot process and lets you run unsigned code from your SD card. It can even let you boot straight to the Homebrew Channel. Watch the vid after the link!

PES series creator Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka recently assured football fans that Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, Wii, PC, PS2) will have a more robust online system compared to last year's release, considered by many PES fans to be a disaster in the online front. Wiibrew developer CashMan has a new update out for his Wii Quizz homebrew game. This is basically a quiz game for the Wii console with a couple of different gameplay modes, but you probably got that just from the title.

Time to take out your wallets gamers, Toys 'R' Us is once again offering a buy-2-get-1 deal, a promo which they usually hold this time of the year. The promo will start on October 12 and end on October 18. They will also be holding a sale on Wii accessories on the 12th and 13th. Details after the link.

Wiibrew developer lnuxguy has released the latest version of WiiDoom, the Doom port for the Wii. Not a lot of changes in this version, but they are major changes nevertheless so you might still want to upgrade - if only to get the new crosshair feature. More details after the link.

Have you guys noticed that platforms seem to have a new strategy of grabbing exclusive downloadable content for games? Well, the strategy worked for the Xbox 360 when they bagged exclusive DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV. One analyst says that this is just the beginning. Eventually, exclusive DLC might become the latest battlefield among the consoles.
