Loop another piece of string, or wire through the wiimote and around the strap. I got paranoid and used some thing stainless steel wire but regular string can do it as well.

Go to target and get a gel grip over the wiimote and it also comes with a wii strap

The strap is supposed to protect the Wiimote from flying across the room should it slip out of your hand. I've had two break. Stupid pieces of plastic junk. They're obviously not doing their job.

How freaking clumsy do you have to be to throw your Wii-Remote? My little hyper-active cousins played with the things for hours and never even came close to losing their grip.
I firmly believe that these people who break their straps aren't telling the whole story. I have to assume that they were swinging the remotes around BY THE STRAPS, or some other such nonsense...

at my friends house, we accidently smashed the wiimote into *****loads of objects, ranging from brick wall to stainless steel stuff while playing Wii sports, and the Wiimote never got damaged at all (neither did the stuff we hit)
