Link is so cool

The fun and games just keep coming in, don't they. There's a rumor about the same Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) issue with the cover that dares to ask "Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?" (a proposition that has PlayStation owners and soon-to-be PS3 owners doing the Exorcist-head-spinning thing): Wii games have been reviewed.
  • Twilight Princess (Wii version)
    9.5/9.5/10
  • Red Steel
    8/8/5
  • ExciteTruck
    7/7/7.5
Notice that Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess got a 9.5, a 9.5, and a 10. That makes us want to believe this rumor (as our resident Wii fanboy says: "because it's impossible for that game to have scores that are any lower"). Just look at that image above. That's a gameplay shot and not a cinematic, if I'm not mistaken.

The other scores also have us thinking, and we want to bring you into the debate.

Who would give Red Steel such a low score? Well, obviously somebody who wasn't impressed with it - some games aren't for everybody. My personal suspicion: it's somebody who wanted more swordplay and less gunplay (or vice versa).

Excite Truck has us excited. For many of us, we're getting this because we want to try using the Wii remote as a steering wheel. And the game's stunts (as you can see from the video) are huge, and the game is amazingly fast-paced. It's a long way from Excite Bike and Mario Kart!

Do you believe these scores? Agree? Disagree? Comment!

 » cool...i guess...

well i look forward to seeing these games in action, but the end of the article asks if we believe the scores...no one can really answer that, no one has played the games. i'm a lil worried about red steel (even tho im getting it at launch) people are giving it great reviews or totally flaming it, and that scares me. some of the videos that journalists demoing it have posted also worry me, they seem to be struggling with the controls. Also, i think the sword fighting looks kinda cheesy/gimmicky. i guess we'll find out in 20 days.

 » Don't worry about it

They're Journalists. They've no idea what they're doing. They're told somethings happening, so they go see and write about it. They're probably only playing because they're paid to.

Every review from someone who plays games says the controls are easy to change to. And personally, I trust gamers over journalists.

These have already been confirmed fake. EGM is reviewing two Wii games in the next issue, but they are neither of these three games. They announced which titles they were reviewing, I just don't remember them.

Neither means only two...

The Zelda review will basically close to whats said here, I dont believe EGM will give it a perfect 10/10/10, usully thats reserved for truy groundbreaking games, which i fear they wont consider this to be exactly.

 » Hardware not released

Considering the fact that the hardware has yet to be released to the press and all they have are demo units...I know these aren't real scores. Matt Casamissina at IGN who has just about the best relationship with nintendo in the industry....has yet to play Zelda...why would EGM have access before he did...and why is he still saying that "no one has recieved final hardware yet"

Well I've played Excite Truck and I say its a 8. You Quickly get taken into the game and start.
Red Steel is Good. The Multi Play isnt the Wii's Golden Eye But the game got what it Deserves.
And Zelda which I havent been able to try yet I know is going to be a Perfict 10!!! It's the most anticipated game of the Year.

Once again this website is always late with the news. This was already confirmed to be fake.

EGM is usually dead on with their reviews. I've been reading and trusting their advice going on 18 years now. If they say a game is mediocre then you can trust that it is precisely that. A prudent man acting so would have to account for the new control medium and also that these are first round games and tend to be judged a under a microscope. If you’re a fan of FPS games, then you have little option at launch with MP: Corruption being MIA so that makes Red Steel the genre’s cream of the Wii crop. I’ve heard similar reviews regarding Excite Truck and it’s par ratings didn’t surprise me in the least. Hey . . . they can’t all be winners.
