If you know anyone who's thinking that the Wii Fit is the fun-and-easy ticket to a better shape, tell them that they're gonna have to get used to that fat gut sticking out. The American Council on Exercise has released their findings on the effectiveness of the so-called fitness game, and what they found is that, "The Wii Fit is a very, very mild workout." |

Although working for a games company such as Nintendo seems like a
dream job for every gamer, it does get old, especially if you have
other interests you want to pursue. Such is what happened to Wii Fit
designer Motoi Okayama, who has left the company to get going on his
dream of starting up his own website dedicated to a gallery of action
figure pictures. |

One of the more interesting appeals of Wii Fit is that it'll keep you, well, fit. Now is this just a gimmick, or has Miyamoto stumbled upon the secret to family fitness? Science wants to know. |

And yet even more (online) publications are rolling out their "best of 2008" lists. Following the rather compromising list from Time Magazine comes another one from Seattle Times. Though the list seems questionable of their credibility in video games evaluation (well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, right?), the awards they've given out are still well-deserved of the games they've listed. |

I would have thought sex and violence versus exercise was a no-brainer. Wii Fit has sold over 8.7
million units worldwide to date, just a stone's throw from GTA 4's (Xbox 360, PS3) 10.6
million. If one assumes a more or less constant rate of growth with their sales, Wii Fit should outsell GTA 4 by the end of the year. |

So who's on top? If you're asking hardware, that'd be the PSP. Over one and a half million units sold, man! Meanwhile, on the software side of things, it's a different story. |

A new monthly report is in town, and it's a collaborative effort between the top three firms that track sales in the video game industry.
