Nintendo action figures - Image 1Although working for a games company such as Nintendo seems like a dream job for every gamer, it does get old, especially if you have other interests you want to pursue.

Such is what happened to Wii Fit designer Motoi Okayama, who has left the company to get going on his dream of starting up his own website dedicated to a gallery of action figure pictures.

At 33 years old, he has worked the past ten years as programmer and game designer for Nintendo, with Wii Play and Wii Fit scrawled neatly in his resume. But then he loves the Internet, and his job at Ninty does not give him the opportunity to work on the Internet.

He recounts,

Thinking about my 10 years at Nintendo, I started to get impatient, that there were these things I wanted to do. The fact that I didn't get to have an influence on the Internet disappointed me. Nintendo has a very strong family-oriented brand, and I felt certain resistance to being able to start up any new online services.

Nintendo doesn't have any projects relating to the Internet, and it'll never pull out completely from packaged goods. It just seemed the next step.

Now that he's gone from Nintendo, he's fully enjoying his hobbyist site, FG, launched nine months ago, currently home to 18,000 members and growing.
