The classic controller for those classic games.

Since Nintendo started releasing the Virtual Console titles in batches in the U.S., many have often wondered why games came out in batches of only around four at a time, when it can all be released in one go. Well, if you're one of those who have wondered about the same thing, then Ebenonce of Select-Copy-Paste as an explanation.

For one thing, he points out that going by increments is the best way to go, strategy-wise. He then goes on to paint the following scenario:

Imagine if Nintendo released one day every game you wanted to buy at once, although it would create a brief but intense online shopping spree (one infact that Intendo's server's themselves many not be prepared for). Consumers would lose interest shortly thereafter because they would have been able to take thier pick of the hottest titles, going back only because they knew what they were loking for.

He has also cited other reasons which include the fact that by being able to keep the next batch of titles under wraps, they are able to create a buzz about it within communities and circles of fans. That and the fact that Wii points can only be bought in groups of 10.

Still doesn't explain why 90% of the games are crap and most of the games released are god damn shooters. Sure people would buy right away the good games and not come back, but right now they're just not buying anything because they're almost all crap.
