Wii in actionWe have here a video showing the Wii's Virtual Console feature in action, and with it the availability of previous titles from the console's predecessors.

In it, an unseen player cycles through the menu revealing games several games including Super Mario Bros. for the NES, Super Mario World for the SNES, Bonk's Adventure for the TurboGrafx 16, and Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis. The games were categorized by system.

Each menu was well decorated featuring a picture of the game's case and a photo of the console the game was originally on. The player finally decided on Sonic the Hedgehog. When he selected it, a screen showing the Virtual Console game controller appeared with labeled buttons listing their functions.

The Virtual Console seemed to be one of the most promising features of the Wii, and this video confirms it. It's becoming more and more apparent which console toppled which last E3.

I didn't mind the controls. I was hoping they'd show the layout for a 6-button Genesis game. That guy still fails at video games.

It won't cost much though. I think about $5 per game or something.
