Wii homebrew scene: Team Twiizer will not be releasing ISOLoader

The Wii homebrew scene is young (fetal, actually). Homebrew on the platform was only opened up a few months ago when an exploit was found in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. However, as in any homebrew scene, one must be careful on where to tread.

Although homebrew presents endless possibilities on maxing out the capabilities of a platform, there are legal boundaries one mustn't breach. This is why Team Twiizer recently remarked in an interview that they will not be making an ISOloader for the platform.

Team Twiizer was the group that found the exploit in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. In the interview, they were also asked whether they were afraid of Nintendo taking legal action against them. They replied that:

Not really. They are mostly concerned with piracy of games, and none of our hacks make it any easier to pirate games. Maybe they will even sell more Wiis to people who want to hack them -- I've bought four ...

Certainly if the Wii homebrew scene is to flourish, it would be best not to get in trouble with Nintendo, unless it wants to go up against the likes of Shigeru Miyamoto. For the rest of the interview, follow the link below.

Thanks to Max for the tip!

We will be releasing an open-source (GPLv2) version soon; I think many people will come up with great enhancements to it ."

Pretty much they dont want to get in trouble, so they are leaving it up to someone that actually knows how to go about releasing an ISOloader by "cleverly" dodging the law by using certain techniques.......such as every other *****ing iso loader.

hmmm? Dark Alex got sued by Sony? No your stupid, just stop talking. Microsoft got hacked, nobody sued. Sony got hacked, nobody sued. Think before you talk.

Perhaps my plans to become more annoying than Mister Common Sense have been foiled. Victory shall yet be mine!

Who's leg do you have to hump to get a dry martini around here? No, team twiizers is making a good choice however, other groups will make an isoloader just as psp and other homebrew scenes have. As for now, Nintendo FTW!
