UK Chart Track has released another batch of statistics with this one revealing that the latest iteration of the Tomb Raider franchise, Tomb Raider: Underworld sold the biggest number of units on the PlayStation 3 console.According to the data gathered, a whopping 51% of all Underworld sales were for the PS3, while 34% accounted for the Xbox 360 sales. The remaining piece of the pie was divided among the Wii, PC, and DS versions. It seems like even without the two exclusive digital episodes granted to the Xbox 360, the PS3 version can more than hold its own. Also, Underworld beat out the first week performance of last year's Tomb Raider: Anniversary by only 6,700 units. Related Tomb Raider: Underworld Articles:

» I wonder
If it'll make Edios question the exclusive DLC microsoft paid for?

» Its the UK not the US.
In the US the 360 version outsells every PS3 version and there are a lot more people in the US. Microsoft designed the 360 and tailored there games toward the desires of American gamers. Sony on the other hand tries to cater to every country which means there games will appeal to a more broad spectrum of gamers but not necessarily as appealling to Americans. This is why I think there games dont do as well in the US because Sony cant decide what audience they want to appeal to. The Japanese have very different tastes when it comes to the type of games they like to play. They dont like to blow things up as much as we do in the US.

@yworob: You do realize that we are talking about the SAME GAME here, whether it's on PS3 or 360? --You may have a point regarding whether this figure is for UK instead of US (going on your word alone, of course). But the rest of your point does not follow, in relation to the subject game: Tomb Raider. This game is no more "tailored to Americans" on the 360 than it is or isn't on the PS3. :-O

I think this has more to do with which consoles have been hacked, and which are not.
The PS3 owners had no choice but to buy it. The wii and 360 owners will have a certain number that just downloaded it.
Thats my theory anyway.

» it's sales that count
not some imaginary number that you think you thought of.

I think you missed my point.
Either that, I am missing yours?
Yes, all they can count is the sales numbers, and YES the sales of the PS3 version are higher than the other consoles.
I am saying that the "sales" may be higher on the PS3, but this is by no means an indication of how many copies of the game are being played on each system. I would suggest that there are MANY more copies on Wii and 360 than they know, simply because a number of them would be playing backups of the originals that were NOT factored in.
But, on a straight up sale per system point, they have "sold" more copies for ps3.
