Whilst the sales weren't as high as I hoped, other titles for Wii aren't selling so well either. Only Nintendo titles are doing well. This isn't just because of the current situation in Japan, as this is happening outside Japan.

This is why the Wii will have few, if any, decent third party games, it's just not profitable. I've been saying this all along, but I get flamed for it. I wonder if this is somehow intentional on Nintendo's part.
Just because a game isn't selling well or selling in the league of the Nintendo titles on the platform, that doesn't mean the game itself isn't decent. There are games in each generation that get passed over or overlooked that should get more attention and respect that what they were given. I'm sure No More Heroes will be a decent game too.
The whole profitable issue: it goes without saying that there are games that might not have ever been released at all if it wasn't cheaper to make it on the Wii. This issue is for better or for worse in those cases. It's a lot worse to produce a game for the 360 or PS3 and have a flop, since it costs a lot more to make a game on each system.
About the last part of what you say, I don't even understand how you could say that and believe it. What actions or steps do you believe Nintendo has taken to undermine third party success (in the area of sales)? Honestly...what is behind your reasoning here?
I think that Suda is just crying that his game hasn't sold as well as he liked in Japan. But he has to remember that he created this game for a Western Audience in mind, and No More Heros isn't what Japan wants. They want the Pokemons, Wii Fits, Final Fantasy etc...
Because I guarantee once Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, etc comes out on Wii, they will sell millions of copies easily.
was that third party???
Yeah dude it was by Konami.....pretty underrated game in my opinion
first party developers are Nintendo,Sony, Microsoft .
Second party developers that make games exclusive to a system but don't have a tie to the main company example bungie before they left microsoft to be a third party.
Third party developers are those big companies that make games for a first party but have the option to make it exclusive or multi systems such as Capcom ,Konami, Namco Bandai, Sega , and many more .
Once again mister common sense you are completely right. Question can anyone name 5 good Wii third party games?
Nope didn't think so
Zack + Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure
Trauma Center: Second Opinion + New Blood
Medal of Honor Heroes 2
Nights: Journey of Dreams
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Rayman Raving Rabbits (1 + 2)
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 + 3
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core
MLB Power Pros
No More Heroes (I'm positive this will be good)
One Piece: Unlimited Adventure
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Good enough?
forget elebits that game was so much fun even my friend who a sony fanatic had tons of fun playing it with me he even went out and bought his own wii mote and he doesn't even own a wii
The reason that there is not alot of software sales for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd party titles is maybe because people are downloading them instead of buying them? And c'mon, wii sports doesn't count as highest game sold because it came with the wii... you can't even buy that game separately. I can't wait to get my wii modded because the games aren't even worth $40-50...
I will admit That resident evil 4 was good but the rest = garbage
I doubt you really took the time to play any of them besides RE4. Whatever though...
I was afraid this would happen, and hopefully this mindset of "My game didn't sell well on Nintendo's console, so why even bother?" is only confined to Suda51. Perhaps the reason most 3rd party games on the Wii didn't sell very well because they suck? Just a guess, Mr. Suda. TRY HARDER NEXT TIME!
3rd parties seriously need to step up on making QUALITY games on the Wii, then maybe their sales will rival Nintendo's games, although there are some quality 3rd party titles already. I'm hoping this will change either near the end of '08 or sometime in '09.
Till then, cry some more, Suda51, cry some more...
Troll much?
The problem is that No More Heroes doesn't suck. Famitsu gave it a 9. In the UK so far it's got an average score of 9.2. Imagine working a masterpiece of a game for a year or two and no one buying it.
The problem is with the Japanese mindset, same reason they don't by XBOX360's because they are scared to buy stuff that is different or new. I work for them, trust me on that.
How about this, when Monster Hunter comes out it will beat Super Mario Galaxy in sales in Japan. Japanese people love Monster Hunter, almost to the point of stupidity.
