Some of our readers might remember the Vii from a few months back. It was a blatant rip-off of the Nintendo Wii that was being sold in China. It got everything down pat - even the Wiimote. It looks like it did pretty well for itself: apparently it just got a localization in Japan. This time the console is being sold as V-Sports (wonder what their inspiration was for the name) and being sold at JP¥ 7,980 (US$ 80), a good leap below the JP¥ 22,800 (US$ 229) price tag the Wii has in Amazon Japan. You'd think the company who manufactures the console would try any other country instead of the home of the Wii. Still, surely there are people out there who are strapped for cash and only want to play Wii Sports V-Sports. It's pretty easy to imagine how the rip-off still survives. |

The Wii is so pathetic, the Chinese have improved it in many ways.
The graphics are better
More, better games than Wii sports
Price is much more attractive
The only downsides are:
No washed up mario games (oh snap!)
No pointer function
Slightly fewer games than the Wii
No Gamecube compatibility (since it isn't an overclocked Gamecube.)
If you like gimmicky consoles, it seems the Vii is the best choice.

The continued success of the Vii is EVEN MORE proof that Mr. Nonsense is a "know nothing" douche bag that doesn't know his mouth from his a-hole. Nothing but crap comes out of both of them so I don't blame him.
Anyway, what I mean by all that is the Vii's success tells us that the controller method is NOT gimmicky as he puts it and that people ARE NOT buying the Wii simply because it's Nintendo. They are obviously buying it for the same reasons people are buying the Vii, because the simple games created for it are HELLA FUN!!!!!

Had I turned on a PS3 game I probably would have attracted 2 or 3 people. Instead, with the Wii, I attracted all 27 guests!!!
The sad part is, Guest B now has a better bowling score then me :( My poor Mii :(

It's just simpler to say "do this" rather than explaining the buttons and what they do. However, to anyone who plays games somewhat often and has adequate hand/eye coordination to press a button on demand, the gameplay is overly simplistic with the minigames and overly complex with traditional type games. That's why you can play smash bros. with a Gamecube Controller (much better) instead of weird unresponsive Wiimote commands.

Wii games get worse reviews, sell more poorly, and are more catered to kids than any other platform.
Wii has the worst ports of the 3 almost always with worst graphics and sound abilities always.
The Vii is much cheaper than the Wii and was easy for the Chinese to immitate. Have you seen the Chinese copy of the PS3, the "Winner"? It doesn't even come close to a PS3.... The Wii is incredibly low-tech.
If I was at a party, I would whip out the 360 and Rock Band, or perhaps some Warhawk on the PS3. Both games are highly popular with the 16-40 age group. I don't invite the old people or kids to my parties. Most women like the 360 or PS3 if they've played games before. Anyone's up for some Rock Band if they've had a few...

With Wii Sports, however, the same repetive, oversimplified gameplay never gets old! There's bowling where you do the exact same motion EVERY time and randomly you get a strike or maybe a spare. Ahh tennis, swing wii-mote, repeat endlessly. No you can't move your player, that could make it fair. Admire jagged stick figure graphics while bored. Boxing! Flail your arms continuously until stick figure boxer with floating gloves finally reacts and hits the player. Sooo much fun! What kind of fool would get bored with that?
OK I'm done being sarcastic, but seriously that was one boring party.

Bowling: the same motion? Well, in real bowling, you pretty much do the same motion too, adding in a flick to the wrist to give it more spin, or more power to throw it faster. What's it not to simulate? Dumbass, in Wii Bowling, you can can give the ball a spin and give it more or less speed depending how fast you do the motion. If you're good, you can get constant strikes/spares.
Boxing: flailing your arms like an idiot. Yes, I've seen my sister and some kids who come over do that, but if you are serious about it, you throw different punches depending on how you move the Wii-mote. In a match with a higher-up CPU, boxing matches are actually fun and challenging, forcing you to dodge and block attacks, with countering with decisive blows to different areas.
Myself, a hardcore gamer, actually enjoyed Wii Sports, and I'm sure others who took the time to play it did too. Even though I rarely pop in the disk because the other games I own, Wii Sports is actually great for a demo disc, which pwns your ass.
I could also explain how the other sports simply are much more than simple movements, but I've only described the ones you did, plus your stuck-up, stubborn, and snobbish mind probably can't handle it. Your 0's and 1's on QJ are hated because of the way you act.

Wario Ware is dead now. i have yet to send it in... ive been very busy lately... and now im afraid my warranty is up. but i guess ill pay for it... i got games for it on christmass and have yet to play them because of my wii brakeing..... Because the GAMES are gimmicky not the CONTROLLER
Because using a light gun as a mouse is dumb.

See basically besides the motion sensativity all the wii and ds' advancements in controls are just mouse input.
We've had that on pc forever, console gamers...
I like some things about wii. But unless your a FAN of an ongoing franchise like zelda or mario etc, its a pathetic comparison to any of the alternatives including portables.
