The Nintendo Wii now fully hacked?

The homebrew scene proves once more that it's a force to be reckoned with, as it seems some guys from the 24th Annual Chaos Communication Congress (24AC3) have just shown off a live demonstration of homebrew running on the Wii. Yes, on the Wii itself, and not via the GameCube backwards compatibility feature of Nintendo's latest console. Proof? They were able to use the Wiimote's motion-sensing capabilities in conjunction with the homebrew program, as you'll see in a video we linked to below.

While we can't help but be excited at the prospect of seeing the homebrew scene for the Nintendo Wii become as creative and exciting as that of today's handheld consoles, we also can't help but take this little bit of good news with a grain of salt and advise our readers to do the same. But then again, the video itself does prove to be quite convincing, as the homebrew was able to display live information about the Wiimote's position and data. So awesome.

I skipped all the talking and went to the demonstration to see nothing. And besides, where are they that they can demonstrate the Wii being hacked. Like what place would allow that?

They have used the Wii to access it's own decryption functions and are now changing code to be what they want. ie. same place PSP was a few years ago.

As far as I can see, this is running WITHOUT exploits! Meaning future users should only need any DVD burner and a Wii drive chip... This looks tasty, but I wish they'd release the farking keys
