The Force Unleashed the 'greatest' Star Wars game ever - Image 1

Looking forward to Star Wars: the Force Unleashed (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PSP, DS)? We know we are. A lot of hardcore fans out there might be worried about the game's story though. Darth Vader had a secret apprentice? I mean, come on. Rule of two, people.

As Yoda said, "Always, Master, apprentice, period," or something like that. If Vader was apprentice to Palpatine, it should have ended there, right? Nope. According to the producer of the PS3 and 360 versions of the game, Cameron Suey, the story works out for canon:

We know that the Sith aren't very good at following their own rules, because we've seen that the Emperor had two apprentices before Darth Vader approximately at the same time. So we know that they're already breaking the rules. That's again why we had a secret apprentice.

In the same interview, Suey also remarked that The Force Unleashed is "the greatest Star Wars story that we've ever told in a video game." He doesn't stop there though. He goes on to say that it's "definitely the greatest Star Wars game." Awesome.

Suey also says that the development team is also planning to release a demo for Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, so watch out for that one. Be sure to check back for more updates on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed!

 » Well..

"Always two there are. No more. No less. A master and an apprentice."

There's no proof that Palpatine was training Dooku before Darth Maul was killed.. there was a 10 year gap there. We know for sure that Anakin killed Dooku before he became Palpatine's apprentice.. so they don't over lap.

However, Yoda never says that a Sith can't be both a Master AND an apprentice at the same time. Every Jedi seems to follow this hierarchal protege system. The Coucil are the masters of all Jedi, even among masters.

The Sith seem to have oedipal issues, all having an inherent desire or goal to kill their master and train their own apprentice.

In Sith lore the Apprentice must kill the Master to attain the title of Master. I'm pretty sure if Vader was sure enough of himself to be able to kill Palpatine he would be arrogant enough to bend or break the rules by taking on an apprentice earlier then he should have to speed along his goals.

I highly doubt it'll top KoToR in any department, but I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

Every developer thinks their version is the best so what's new? Fact is, over 90% of all games produced are just an over hyped steaming pile and I couldn't care less what IP they've paid for in bringing it to the masses.

I say put up or shut up mr developer and let the gamers decide whether your game is any good or not!

If history shows anything, it's that developers shouldn't over hype their work - it just leads to disappointment most of the time.

And the PSP and DS version will suck, and be nothing like the console versions.

 » How could

They be as good as the console versions. You figure that one out on your own. LOL. I think the PSP version will be cool if its anything like Jedi Acadamy. That game was sick.

I don't mean just super ridiculously toned down graphics (Because you know that's a gimme, even when they do it so much you look at it and say, "This looks nothing like it," even though it could be a lot better even on the PSP, they're just too lazy.)
I mean they can never seem to get the controls right, or frame rate hitches, or the characters response time is baaaad. (See Tomb Raider Legends for PSP)
This whole post sounds like an uncaring ***** thing to say, but that's just how it goes whenever it's a multi-system release. Look at IronMan recently. ...or if you haven't looked at it on the PSP, don't bother. Haha. NFS Pro Street, Madden. When games are made exclusively by companies that care what their product turns out as, is when you truly see the power of what the PSP can do. But that's an obvious statement, just sayin'.
