Leaked: Dark Obiwan character art - Image 1

You know he's evil because he has creepy, yellow eyes that stare at you from beneath a dark hood. That just screams Palpatine. But wait, that's not Palpatine, it's... Obi-Wan Kenobi? Looks like Free Radical was planning to put a twist on an old story (and an old Jedi) for Star Wars: Battlefront 3.

It was first noticed by Kotaku in the leaked vid. Near the end, a hoodless Palpatine said "stick to the plan, Kenobi." Oooooh, I smell conspiracy. Or maybe that's the day-old pizza I'm saving for later. Anyway, PlayStation Universe then got these smashingly evil Dark Obi Wan concept art in the mail. Don't know if they're authentic, but it would explain what Kotaku's Brian Crecente heard in the vid.

Too bad Free Radical got axed before we could see anything more though. Ah, but wait! It seems the rumor mill choked up another one. This one comes from videogaming247, whose "insider source" says we might yet see Star Wars: Battlefront 3, which will be assigned back to Pandemic Studios.

True? Let's hope so.

I badly hope that's true. Not only could it continue being made, but by the company that's had experience with battlefront games.

I only played Battlefront 2 and loved it and from what i saw in the video i think this would make a great game if it ever gets released. *fingers crossed* : )

I made a comment in the article the other day that the whole lengthy "alpha" video looked pretty polished and complete to be all 'lost to the wind'. All this 'Internet rumor' that the project is now in the dumpster smells like veiled viral marketing to me.

I think the question isn't "if", but "when" is this title due out on the market? :-)
