Have tea with a chocobo in Virtual World - Image 1Given the current trend in ingame advertising, it's Square Enix's turn to promote one of its upcoming games for a particular platform: Square Enix will be featuring ads for the Nintendo Wii game Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon on Square Enix's Virtual World service.

The Square Enix Virtual World, which will launch next week in Japan, is an exclusive PC service for members of Square Enix. It's highly reminiscent of other virtual worlds such as Second Life or Home, only with Square Enix RPG motifs such as chocobos.

For the moment, the spotlight will be on Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon as far as ads in the Virtual World go, but Square Enix will also be plugging their other games via this service. Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon has been scheduled for commercial release in Japan on December 13.
