Deca Sporta for the Wii moved to March 2008 launch - Image 1Developer Hudson Soft is sending out word that Deca Sporta for the Nintendo Wii console will be missing its earlier reported launch for the end of this year, and will instead be moved to a March 3, 2008 release. Deca Sporta was originally set for this December 20, as was previously indicated in the game's official site;  the site currently shows the new official date.

The company further explained that this rescheduling was done so that they could further polish up the title's development. Given the games' demo videos from TGS 2007 that featured sports like badminton, archery, and  snowboarding, we're hoping this long wait will ensure a more enjoyable experience come release. Drop by again in case we hear word of any new updates for Deca Sporta.

If Wii Sports got you hooked, then Hudson Soft's Deca Sporta could be the killer app in terms of titles that made very good use of the Wiimote - and we see that in action with these three gameplay videos direct from TGS 2007. Sit back, relax, and look at just what sporting events you'll be sweating it out to come the game's highly-anticipated release date.

This video update tackles three major sporting events: Badminton, Snowboarding, and Archery. Graphically, the game is quite solid, with the visual theme similar to that of Wii Sports (i.e. simplified facial expressions, super-deformed characters).

And just like Nintendo's sports title, gameplay is the big star here, and darn if Archery and Badminton don't look fun. Snowboarding looks great as well, but how does one exactly control the board with the Wiimote? Until we're clued in to that little mystery, let's all focus on getting our aim and our swings right. I know I will.

Embeds are below, you know what to do. Enjoy the videos!
