Hear that? That's the sound of a blue hedgehog getting up close and personal with a) gravity, and b) the floor. Ker-SPLAT! Following the news that Sonic Unleashed will be delayed in Japan, we now have confirmation that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will likewise get a later-than-scheduled release in North America. Sonic fans will have a little something to look forward to this holiday season, as Sega has confirmed that Sonic Unleashed is still go for a pre-Christmas release in North America and Europe.

Sega's upcoming Sonic Unleashed (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) has been a point of curiosity for a while now. A lot of people familiar with the blue speedball are wondering how his werehog transformation will work out. The latest trailer is here and it features the title's gameplay. Sega, however, thought that it might be a good thing if mascot Sonic the Hedgehog tried it, so he did. It seems like Sonic has finally decided to go solo once again as Sega announced that the speedy hedgehog will be starring in his own next-gen title, Sonic Unleashed.
