 It appears that Nintendo's done a bit of in-house advertising for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We're letting you know that a new game mode has been announced for SSBB, one that will certainly rouse the curiosity of those here eyeing a chance at some free classic gaming.
The mode is called Masterpieces, and it allows you to play a demo of some of the titles that SSBB's growing cast of characters made their debuts.
While Super Mario Bros. is a shoe-in for this mode, other titles like Star Fox 64 and Super Metroid are also among the teasers you can run. Here's a list of the currently revealed games for Masterpieces:
- Ice Climber (1985, NES)
- Super Mario Bros. (1985, NES)
- The Legend of Zelda (1987, NES)
- Kid Icarus (1987, NES)
- Kirby’s Adventure (1993, NES)
- Super Metroid (1994,Super NES)
- Star Fox 64 (1997, Nintendo 64)
Keep note that we said these are just demos. The full games can be purchased and downloaded via the Virtual Console. That's all there is for this SSBB update alert, though we part noting that more retro titles are expected to make an appearance on the Masterpieces mode. Keep alert when updates are posted.
